We had the good fortune of connecting with Massio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Massio, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe music has to be your real passion, besides the basic knowledge and the proper tools and equipment to make great music, you need to be passionate and have fun during the creative process so you can ideas that can lead you to that sound that you are looking for, but the most important thing is to maintain the spirit and focus on the big picture when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is a tough industry,  that’s why you got to be consistent with your work ethic and routines, this is big factor in any personal aspirations and has definitely lead me to play in events as Coachella, Burning Man, LIB, Latin Grammys and touring around China, South America, Canada US & Mexico.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m very happy to announce that my single “Awaiting this Moment” will be out on April 6th in all major digital platforms,  which is considered “a stunning interpretation that feels timeless” under the great Canadian record label “Mirrors”  I also have been designing a 4 track EP with uprising starts Vauban and Kanedo that is coming out in “Words Not Enough” with remixes from underground heroes, Eri Irman and Nopi.  For the third release, “Still Standing Olive Tree” is coming out in “Personal Belongings” and “Kingdom of Hearts” feat Valeo will be out under the imprint KNZ.

Being a g Dj is much more than just playing some records, we often forget that being able to manipulate and control the emotions of hundreds of people at the same time through a Dj set, and knowing when to push or release the tension on the dance floor is a skill that not many Djs have, this is definitely a skill that will set you apart from others. It’s also very different to play at 3pm Vs 3am so that’s why you got to learn how to read the audience to keep them engaged. Tchlepatic Black became one of the best nights at Pattern Bar in Down Town Los Angeles because we implemented this philosophy n every show. You need to have a strong like-minded team that understands the style and the sound of the brand to make every show a success. Los Angeles has one of the best underground music communities and luckily the support from local artists and audience has been a factor for our achievements . Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I will definitely take him to Mexico, we all know that Baja California is one of the best states in the country, top of the line chefs, amazing wineries and surfing. The underground scene is small compared to Los Angeles but is definitely one of the strongest in the region. Fish Tacos and Ceviche is a must and a quick tour through down town Ensenada and to the infamous Hussongs for a real Margaritas, and maybe after sunset we can hit the recording studio to vibe and record some vocals.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
2020 was definitely a great year in my career, I had major releases on Perfecto Records, Hoomidaas Records and Dialtone and some exclusive podcast for Electronic Groove and Music is 4 Lovers. I must recognize and thank these great platforms, and also to all the people along the way, Loboman, PabloKey, Paul Oakenfold, Jimbo James, Ramin Majless, Armen Miran, Carolijn Doorduijn, Chrostian Orlo, SBCLTR , Techlepatic Black and our home Pattern Bar.
