We had the good fortune of connecting with Mauro Buonarota and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mauro, what is the most important factor behind your success?
When it’s about success there are a lot of variables which are critical on the way and some of them are not under our control. In my case it is even more complicated since I work in the music industry and most of my success depends on my creativity and how people feel about my music.
My music is not under my control; I just feel inspired and do my best to make the music coming from my inspiration as much close as I can to what I feel inside and want to share with my listeners.
My creative process is pretty simple and direct and without any doubts the contamination of different sounds and styles has been the first key factor to my success.
In addition to that, the second key factor to my success has been my ability to create the perfect chemistry and connection with the international artists I have been collaborating with, in order to be open to different ideas and experiences but make music as one.
I had the pleasure to reach the N.7 of the Billboard chart and I know that it’s a dream for most of the artists, but these two skills made it totally easier.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a songwriter, music producer and Dj and in my career I had the pleasure to release a large number of hits collaborating with many international artists. The road to my goals has been windy but thanks to my team we have been able to reach all of them and so many others have to come.
My music is appreciated worldwide because I love contaminations and this is an attitude I also have in my daily life with all the people I have the pleasure to meet.
Of course it wasn’t easy and each one of my achievement has been built with a solid teamwork and a constant attention to details for months or even years.
All of that made me able to reach the top of the international charts but probably the project I’m the most proud of is the “Remix of Tomorrow” in collaboration with Phonat which escalated the Billboard chart up to the N.7.
Another project I’m very proud of is the NakedMusic nights at Caffe Roma in Beverly Hills – Los Angeles. I’m the Artistic Director of the NakedMusic nights, a periodical event dedicated to songwriters coming from all over the world in order to have them performing their original music on a prestigious stage; as Artistic Director I’m also in charge to scout and judge the songwriters who will be on the stage and that makes me very proud.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I fell in love with LA at first sight thanks to the amazing atmosphere and in the last years I visited so many different places. What would I show first to my best friend? I’d definitely suggest a lovely hike in the Griffith observatory area; for sure the best way to experience a real LA experience and at the same time to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city!
Then a ride on the “Walk of Fame” on Hollywood boulevard, some warm sun in Santa Monica and a full day at the Universal Studios.
So many options to have delicious food: for a typical LA experience you can’t miss Musso and Frank, looking for a tasty Japanese meal? Delish Hollywood is the place! But if you are looking for an extraordinary food experience I’d definitely suggest to book a table at Gucci Osteria in Beverly Hills.
What about drinks? Here you are a couple of options where live music is a constant presence: Caffe Roma and Harvard&Stone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Being successful is like climbing a peak, especially in the music industry, and you need a very strong team to be able to do that. In my career I had the pleasure to collaborate with amazing international artists who have been part of my team, making it stronger project after project, but a special mention goes to Gianluca Pizzorno, my manager and mentor. He made my projects come true with a constant encouragement and support, but let’s say that I made it easier with my talent!
Anyway, I truly believe that you can have the most pure talent in the world, but it means nothing if you don’t have and amazing team supporting your activity.
That’s why I want to thank the artists who have been part of my team so far, because their presence enabled me to create something unique and appreciated by my listeners. Collaborating with artists like Phonat, Alex Alessandroni Jr., Dom Capuano and Fabio Campedelli is been so constructive and enriching that I felt blessed.
Last but not least, a special mention goes to my family! They always supported me with all the love they had especially during the darkness of the pandemic.
