Meet Megan Botnick | Comedian, Model, Actress, Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Botnick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, how does your business help the community?
As mbeeco, part of my purpose is to dismantle the stigma around mental illness by openly sharing my struggles and experiences in a casual, real, and relatable way. I use my platform to normalize conversations around mental health, from going to a mental health hospital to going to therapy, getting medicated, and becoming a success story because of it—not in spite of it.
I want to inspire others who are struggling to seek help, believe in themselves, and understand that mental illness doesn’t have to be a limitation—it can be a superpower. I focus on reframing diagnoses like bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, and anxiety as strengths that can propel people toward their dreams rather than hold them back.
I’m living proof that being mentally ill doesn’t disqualify you from success—it can fuel it. I want to empower others to stop hiding and start seeing their minds as powerful, unique, and capable. Mental illness doesn’t have to be a limitation—it can be a superpower. I focus on reframing diagnoses like bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, and anxiety as strengths that can propel people toward their dreams rather than hold them back. My content exists to show that healing and thriving can coexist with struggle.
I plan to partner with organizations like NAMI and speak on stages like TEDx to share my story and spark a cultural shift—where mental illness is no longer a taboo, but a badge of resilience and brilliance.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is my fearless approach to dark, edgy humor as a woman—which is still pretty unconventional. Women are often expected to play it safe, be agreeable, and not push boundaries, especially in comedy. But I’m here to flip that. I take the kind of jokes girls whisper to each other behind closed doors and say them out loud—because why should we hide? The world is ready for unfiltered, unapologetic women.
I also embrace my sexuality in a way that feels authentic to me. I’m not afraid to look attractive or make edgy, raunchy jokes—but I don’t monetize my body. I’m redefining what sex-positive comedy can look like. You can be sexy, funny, and respected without fitting into a box people try to force on you.
Honestly, I believe my path is pure destiny. From the outside, it might look hard—but it’s always felt like a breeze because I’ve been fueled by passion and a deep sense of purpose. I’m proud of where I am, but even more excited for what’s next.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned? If you’re on the path that’s truly meant for you, the obstacles will come—but your drive will always be stronger. That’s what I want the world to know: everyone has a calling. When you find yours, you’ll realize that the light inside you will overpower through any darkness on your path.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, we’re doing it right. Most of my friends are anime watchers or gamers, so first stop: the Anime Bar. I’ve hosted events there, and it’s basically nerd heaven—video games, daily karaoke, great food, drinks, and a vibe that feels like a party and a safe space all at once.
For food, I’m taking them to Tobiuo at LaCenterra—hands down the best sushi and oysters I’ve ever had. It’s a hidden gem, and once you taste it, you’ll never forget it.
For something playful and chaotic (because cardio should be fun), we’re hitting up Cosmic Air Trampoline Park. Yes, we’re grown—but who doesn’t want to ignite their inner child?
And of course, we’re not skipping nightlife. On the weekend, we’re heading to Washington Ave or The Heights for some solid bar hopping. Heights for a slightly classier vibe, and Washington Ave if we’re getting wild.
Honestly, Houston has something for every vibe—and I’ll make sure the bestie is taken care of

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a huge shoutout to my immediate family. They’ve been incredibly supportive of me, even when my path made zero sense to them—like when I dropped out of college at 20 and moved to Los Angeles on a whim. Even if they didn’t fully understand what I was doing, they never doubted me. They always trusted that I had my own back—and that trust gave me the confidence to keep going.
My mom, especially, is my best friend and my anchor. She’s the definition of unconditional love. No matter what goes right or what completely falls apart, she’s always been there—calm, steady, and on my side. Knowing I have someone like that behind me has allowed me to live so boldly and unapologetically. Her love gave me the freedom to take risks, bet on myself, and keep going when things got dark. I really wouldn’t be here without her (partially because of her genetics as well).
