We had the good fortune of connecting with Mia Scozzafave and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mia, why did you pursue a creative career?
When you are a creative, artistic kind of person, it’s nearly impossible to not find a way, even unconsciously, of exteriorizing these artistic energies. For me, it is not much of a choice, it’s something that is in your core. The difference lies in people that find a way to channel these feelings and reshape in what we call “a job” and other people, for many reasons, put energy in other places, so that they can have a job, “to support ” their creative energies in their spare time. I believe if you are an artistic person and you don’t direct these energies somehow, you’re going to find yourself in a very unhappy place at some point. It has happened to me before.
However, the common denominator in all creative/artistic people that I’ve known, is that unique feeling that is very particular to each and only individual and makes you complete. It’s that spark that makes the whole world stop turning and freeze for a couple seconds being in your mind a pleasant eternity. It makes everything worth it and leads us to never stop to pursue it and feel it again and again and again. It’s what keeps us moving through difficulties, highs and lows, rejections, frustration, happiness and never giving up because you know when you feel it again, it all will be worth it and you will be in the right place, exactly where you want to be.
You know exactly what I’m talking about, if you felt it before, right? So keep going, never give up on your dreams artistic or not. Find your essence, so you can be and share your bliss with the world. We are definitely in a time and space that we need true happiness all around us. That’s my pursuit, everyday.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Art by itself can’t be compared. Artistic individuals will set apart from each other naturally by their own way of expression or manifestation of art. I got here today with a lot of perseverance, and I still need tons of it. I always will. You have to be aware you’re gonna have ups and downs but it’s all part of your journey. In fact, I keep remembering myself is that process that brings you join, satisfaction, personal growth and not only reaching your goals. Once you do, you will always need new sets of goals, so you can keep feeling alive. I don’t thing is easy but I think is what makes life so precious and interesting. About me to the world… I finally understand clearly, the most importante thing is to find out who you are and be brave to be yourself, to express your art in a manner that you can’t be touched but anyone on else but your own soul and truth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Like a nature’s lover and exercise addict, I would start the day at the Reservoir where you can see the iconic Hollywood sign while you can go for a run. Mandeville Canyon is also a great option when you have clear skies because you have an amazing view of the ocean. Or still you can get a bike and ride the Strand from Santa Monica to Venice and ride PCH to Malibu. If you want a quiet beautiful place to relax and even meditate, Lake Shrine is a must go. It’s so peaceful and amazing.

One of the things that I also love in LA is how many cute and outside seating places the city has. You can find all kinds of place like S.O.L to get a quick bite, or Alfred’s for a coffee, or Wally’s for a glass of wine or still enjoy an lovely afternoon at “The Cabana” in the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. In fact, that’s another thing I love in LA. All the beautiful Hotels in town and their amazing rooftops and restaurants. From the celebrated Bel Air hotel and their alluring swans to the rooftop at Waldorf Astoria and their unique city views to the “Patio” at the Chateau Marmont, it’s hard to pic one. Being such a well know destination for people worldwide, you can find all kinds of culinary. Steaks at Boa, seafood at Crustacean, japanese at Nobu, italian El pastaio, I can keep going for hours… lol. Just pic yours!!!! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people along my journey that has helped to achieve my goals. From agents, managers, to friends, family, coaches, or even a word said to me by a stranger in the right place and the right time that I needed to hear. I live in such swirl of emotions that it’s impossible to name it. From my first coach back in Brazil that made me feel what to be an actress was, to that unknown old lady at the pharmacy that said ” Ow, I would hold on to this ones” referring to the chocolates that I never buy, and I understood as a sign of the Universe to stick in a project. I have so many examples that I feel were essential for me to be here, from smaller literal things to big amazing actions led by feelings. All matters.
