We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Haymond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Everything happens for a reason.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Most professionals in my industry work Monday – Friday from 9-5p. When clients need guidance on obtaining financing for their homes it’s usually after work hours because they also work from 9-5p. The lesson I learned early on is that my best ability is my availability. I want people to know that my independent business started with and will always have the families best interest in mind. So many people aren’t educated on the home buying process and succumb to all sorts of sneaky marketing tactics that cost them a lot of time and money.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first spot would be Sqirl for the best breakfast in LA. Then we would catch a Dodgers day game, followed by some bar hopping in Highland Park for happy hour. Highland Park Bowl always has good drinks and a good place to watch (or participate 😁) in some good Karaoke. Maybe finish the night off on a rooftop at EP/LP.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people in this industry that had a hand in helping me get to a point of success. Kenyatta Sanders of Bleu Pearl Realty was my biggest mentor. He really went out of his way to train me and give me a sense of direction.
