Hi Michael, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of our brand is the combination of creativity and operational expertise. Sussanna Davidson, my partner and our Head Creative Director, leads the charge when it comes to the vision it takes to build luxury floral themes for hotels, events, weddings and more. I lead the charge when it comes to operationalizing that vision so that it works as seamlessly as possible. We apply that model to all elements of our business .

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
French Buckets is a luxury floral design studio that specializes in high-end, bespoke floral creations. We design everything from grand lobby centerpieces in five-star hotels to breathtaking cliffside weddings and large-scale corporate functions across the country. What sets us apart is our commitment to artistry—every arrangement is thoughtfully crafted, balancing nature’s raw beauty with refined elegance. We don’t just create floral pieces; we curate experiences that leave a lasting impression.

I’m incredibly proud of how French Buckets has grown into a sought-after brand for those who value exquisite, one-of-a-kind floral designs. We’ve had the honor of working with top-tier venues, luxury brands, and discerning clients who trust us to bring their vision to life in the most stunning way possible.

But getting here wasn’t easy. Floral design is as much about logistics as it is about creativity. From sourcing the finest blooms to ensuring flawless execution at large-scale events, every detail matters. One of the biggest challenges has been scaling the business while maintaining the level of quality and artistry that defines French Buckets. We’ve overcome this by building an exceptional team—a blend of creatives, strategists, and operational experts who bring passion and precision to every project.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that luxury is in the details. Whether it’s a single, show-stopping arrangement or a massive floral installation for a national event, our work is about craftsmanship, storytelling, and evoking emotion.

At its core, French Buckets is about beauty, experience, and artistry. We believe that flowers have the power to transform spaces, elevate moments, and create unforgettable memories. We want the world to know that when you work with us, you’re not just getting flowers—you’re getting a carefully curated experience designed to inspire.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d keep it coastal and elegant, spending time in Lido Marina Village (where we have a kiosk) and Laguna Beach (where our studio is), two of the most beautiful and vibrant spots in Orange County.

Lido Marina Village – Newport Beach

Morning: Start with a cappuccino at Honor Coffee and a stroll through the stylish boutiques like Jenni Kayne, Aleph and Serena & Lily.

Midday: Enjoy a long lunch at Malibu Farm, soaking in harbor views with fresh, organic fare.

Afternoon: Rent a Duffy boat and cruise the bay with a glass of rosé, or browse local art at Molly Wood Garden Design.

Evening: Sunset cocktails at Nobu Newport Beach, followed by an upscale seafood dinner at The Cannery or A Restaurant for classic OC vibes.

Laguna Beach

Morning: Grab a pastry and espresso at Zinc Café, then take a scenic hike at Top of the World for panoramic ocean views.

Midday: Browse Laguna’s art galleries, then enjoy a leisurely lunch at Broadway by Amar Santana for a refined, chef-driven experience.

Afternoon: Relax on the sand at Thousand Steps Beach or explore tide pools at Crystal Cove.

Evening: Sunset drinks at The Deck, followed by a cozy, candlelit dinner at Selanne Steak Tavern or Studio at the Montage for the ultimate luxury experience.
