We had the good fortune of connecting with Miguel Djontu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miguel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me this company started as a hobby that I enjoyed. I later realized that I have a gift. Not photography itself but the ability to bring joy, confidence and happiness out of people. The best way to honor the gifts God gave me is to serve his people using it so I turned it into a business for that main reason. The name MESUS stands for Miguel and Jesus since I’m partnering with him along this journey.
What should our readers know about your business?
For me this company started as a hobby that I enjoyed. I later realized that I have a gift. Not photography itself but the ability to bring joy, confidence and happiness out of people. The best way to honor the gifts God gave me is to serve his people using it so I turned it into a business for that main reason. The name MESUS stands for Miguel and Jesus since I’m partnering with him along this journey. One of the only challenges I had was mentorship. I believe that the cheat code in any business is finding mentorship. To overcome that challenge I used YouTube, and bought many courses since I did not have any local mentors. A long the way I learned the difference between being a photographer and running a photography business. Being a successful photographer has barely anything to do with being artistic but more so about knowing how to run a business. Knowing accounting principles, marketing, administration, how to hire team members and etc. These are some of the skills needed to be successful in the industry. I want the world to know that being a successful creative entrepreneur is possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man I love adrenaline rush or adventurous activities in General. We would go to an amusement park, gun range, autobahn, rock climbing, zip lining or any those kind of activities
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
