Meet Mikhail Kriuchkov | The founder of For U Med Spa

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikhail Kriuchkov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mikhail, how do you think about risk?
In my experience, risk-taking isn’t about recklessness; it’s about embracing uncertainty as a pathway to growth. For me, risk has been a defining force shaping both my personal life and my professional trajectory. A few years ago, my wife and I made the decision to leave behind our home, our extended family, and the comfort of a well-established business in Russia. We arrived in the United States, specifically Beverly Hills, with limited resources, no local support network, and no guarantees of success. In essence, we bet everything on our ability to adapt, innovate, and persevere.
This leap of faith taught me two essential lessons about risk. First, risk-taking often ignites a deeper sense of purpose. By venturing into the unknown, I was forced to clarify my goals, refine my vision, and push beyond the limits of what I thought was possible. Second, taking risks encourages resilience and creative problem-solving. When I had no safety net or familiar roadmap, I had to rely on resourcefulness, learn quickly, and remain agile in the face of challenges.
Today, as my wife and I watch our new business grow, I realize that the risks we took were less about daring for the sake of daring, and more about refusing to settle. Risk has catalyzed my growth as both an entrepreneur and an individual. It has taught me that while stepping into the unknown is intimidating, it can also open doors to opportunities we might never have imagined if we had stayed where we were. In short, taking risks has not only reshaped my career—it has expanded my horizon of what’s possible in life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
For U Med Spa isn’t just your everyday med spa—it’s a space defined by genuine care, cutting-edge technology, and the renowned warmth and hospitality that Russian service is known for. Although our business is only a year old, we’re working hard to grow, evolve, and stand out in a highly competitive market.
The journey to where we are today certainly hasn’t been easy. One of the biggest hurdles has been securing the right financial backing. As recent immigrants, obtaining loans or favorable financing is challenging, so we’ve had to become resourceful, seeking out investors who believe in our vision and our potential. Beyond financial obstacles, there’s been the matter of adjusting to a new culture and business landscape. We came from a place where clients expect one style of service, and we had to learn—sometimes through trial and error—how to best connect with our American clientele. That meant spending time observing, listening, and rethinking the way we communicate and provide care.
Through it all, we’ve learned the importance of adaptability, persistence, and staying true to our core values. At the heart of For U Med Spa is a commitment to delivering an elevated level of client experience—one where people feel truly listened to, cared for, and treated with honesty and respect. We believe that’s what sets us apart. Our story is one of continual learning and growth, and what we want the world to know is that a med spa experience can and should be about so much more than just treatments. It should be about understanding clients, serving them in a way that resonates with their needs, and making them feel valued every step of the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to craft an itinerary that captures the energy, diversity, and iconic experiences of the area. We’d try to balance must-see landmarks with local favorites and a bit of relaxation. Here’s how our week might look:
Day 1: Beverly Hills & Rodeo Drive
• Morning: Start the day in Beverly Hills with a leisurely stroll along Rodeo Drive. Even if you’re not shopping at the luxury boutiques, just taking in the gorgeous storefronts and high-end atmosphere is an experience.
• Afternoon: Grab lunch at a nearby café—maybe Il Pastaio for some great Italian fare.
• Evening: Head to a rooftop bar, like The Rooftop by JG at the Waldorf Astoria, for sunset drinks and a stunning city view.
Day 2: Santa Monica & Venice
• Morning: Hit the Santa Monica Pier early, enjoy the classic amusement park rides, and take a walk on the beach.
• Afternoon: Rent a bike and cruise down to Venice Beach. Check out the street performers, the famous Muscle Beach, and the eclectic shops along the boardwalk.
• Evening: Dine at one of Santa Monica’s farm-to-table restaurants, such as Rustic Canyon, and then catch the sunset over the Pacific.
Day 3: Hollywood & Universal Studios
• Morning: Start at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, snap a photo at the TCL Chinese Theatre, and soak up the Old Hollywood vibe.
• Afternoon: Spend the rest of the day at Universal Studios Hollywood. Ride the attractions, explore the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and maybe catch a behind-the-scenes studio tour.
• Evening: Head over to the Universal CityWalk for dinner—there are plenty of lively restaurants and entertainment options to close out the night.
Day 4: The Great Outdoors & the Hollywood Sign
• Morning: Take a hike to get a closer view of the Hollywood Sign. The trail up around Griffith Park offers some of the best panoramic city views.
• Afternoon: Head to Griffith Observatory to explore the exhibits and take in more stunning scenery of Los Angeles.
• Evening: Drive down to Sunset Boulevard and pick a restaurant or lounge for a relaxed dinner—there’s everything from casual taco stands to trendy fusion spots.
Day 5: Santa Barbara
• Morning: Make it a day trip up the coast to Santa Barbara. Stop for brunch on State Street, visit the Santa Barbara County Courthouse for its beautiful Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, and stroll along Stearns Wharf.
• Afternoon: Enjoy wine tasting at one of the nearby vineyards or local tasting rooms in the Funk Zone.
• Evening: Dine at a seaside restaurant and watch the sunset over the harbor.
Day 6: Solvang
• Morning: Head to the charming Danish-inspired town of Solvang. Try some authentic pastries and coffee at one of the local bakeries.
• Afternoon: Explore the boutiques, wine tasting rooms, and maybe even rent a surrey bike for a whimsical spin around town.
• Evening: Enjoy a quiet, relaxed dinner—perhaps at a cozy European-style restaurant—before returning to L.A.
Day 7: Thrills at Six Flags Magic Mountain
• Morning & Afternoon: Cap off the trip with a visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It’s one of the best theme parks for thrill-seekers, with roller coasters that will satisfy any adrenaline junkie.
• Evening: After a day of rides, head back and chill at a local gastropub or a sushi spot in one of L.A.’s many diverse neighborhoods.
Throughout the Week:
If we have extra time, we’ll sprinkle in visits to local farmers markets, drive along the Pacific Coast Highway for breathtaking coastal views, and perhaps catch a live show—anything from stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store to an indie band at a small music venue.
In short, my ideal week itinerary blends the quintessential L.A. “hits” with some relaxing coastal escapes, cultural treats, and just enough adventure to create an unforgettable trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my wife, Alina. She’s not only my life partner, but also my business partner, my muse, my friend, and my biggest source of encouragement. When we first made the leap to leave everything behind and start a new business in a completely different country, her unwavering support and belief in us as a team helped turn a daunting challenge into an exciting new chapter. Alina’s insight, creativity, and resilience have guided us through every obstacle, and her warmth and understanding have kept us grounded and focused on the bigger picture. In short, I owe so much of my success, both professionally and personally, to Alina’s presence in my life. She truly is the heart and soul behind everything we’ve achieved.
