Hi MikMeals, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
IVE ALWAYS HAD A STRONG PASSION FOR COOKING AND BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER OVER FOOD. OVERTIME, I NOTICE THAT MANY EVENTS NEEDED RELIABLE CATERING THAT OFFERED BOTH QUALITY AND A PERSONAL TOUCH. I STARTED THINKING ABOUT HOW I COULD COMBINE MY HOME COOKING SKILLS WITH MY INTEREST IN HOSPITALITY. THATS WHAT LED ME TO START MY OWN CATERING BUSINESS SO I COULD CREATE A MEMORABLE FOOD EXPERIENCES WHILE BUILDING SOMETHING OF MY OWN.


Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My catering business is built around comfort food with a Cajun twist. I love taking familiar dishes and elevating them with bold spices, rich flavors, and techniques I’ve learned along the way. A big inspiration for me has been watching shows on Food Network, where I picked up new cooking techniques and creative ways to use spices.
What really sets my brand apart is the passion and authenticity behind the food. I’m not just cooking meals I’m creating experiences that bring people together. My style blends traditional comfort food with Cajun flavors that add that extra kick and uniqueness you don’t always find with other caterers.
I’m extremely proud of how far I’ve come in such a short time. Building this business wasn’t easy, but I stayed strong and never gave up on myself. I invested in my skills, my vision, and my growth. One thing I’ve learned through this journey is that success isn’t just about business it’s also about the team you build around you. You have to surround yourself with people who are good for your mental health and your business, because the right support system makes all the difference.
Right now, what excites me the most about the future of my brand is expanding and eventually getting my own food truck. That’s the next big step I’m working toward so I can reach more people and share my food with even bigger communities.
At the end of the day, what I want people to know about my brand and my story is simple I’ve always had a passion for cooking, and I believed enough in myself to invest in that passion. That belief, along with hard work and perseverance, is what got me where I am today.


Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting the area, the first place I’d take them is Venice Beach. I grew up in Venice, so the beach always felt like my backyard. Some of my favorite memories are just exploring the area and riding bikes all the way to Santa Monica Pier. The views along that ride are amazing, and it’s such a fun way to experience the coast.
For food, I’d definitely take them to Toca Madera or El Coyote because I love Mexican food, and their drinks are always great. It’s a good vibe and a great place to hang out.
I’d also take them to a concert because I love music and singing, it’s one of the places where I really like to turn up and enjoy the energy. And for fun, I’d plan something competitive like go kart racing or bowling. I like doing activities where there’s a challenge and a winner at the end it just makes everything more exciting.
For me, showing someone around would be about giving them the full experience: the beach, great food, good music, and fun activities.


Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I WILL HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT TO FOOD NETWORK FOR INSPIRING ME AND HELPING ME LEARN NEW TECHNIQUES AND WAYS TO ELEVATE FLAVORS. BUT THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE WAS MY GRANDMOTHER SHE HAD ME HELPING IN THE KITCHEN WHEN I WAS YOUNG. THATS REALLY WHERE MY PASSION FOR COOKING STARTED AND EVENTUALLY LED ME TO START MY OWN CATERING BUSINESS.
