We had the good fortune of connecting with Milena Rose Ghattas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Milena Rose, what principle do you value most?
Honesty and authenticity to yourself and your brand. Being honest will always prove you’re trustworthy. This is so important because in any business, we are humans…mistakes will occur. The bare minimum you can provide is honesty to clear up any miscommunication or mistakes. This will give you a continuously solid reputation.
Being authentic to yourself and your brand will always attract to you what’s meant for you. I spent a good amount of my career trying to replicate what others around me were doing and it always felt like I was “chasing” dreams. Once I started being more myself, that’s when things really took off. I’ve even started attracting clients who are genuinely like minded.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart is my fearlessness and ability to get the job done. I’ve always been extremely hard working and intuitive which has lead me to this point. My work ethic has set me apart from so many (especially when I was 18 and just starting out), but my intuition has gotten me through the rough times. When things were bad I may have broken down and cried, but I always had my gut feeling to keep grinding and to not throw in the towel. When I needed to change something in my life or adjust, my intuition led me where I needed to go. Now, being active on social media as well as client referrals and brand deals are what keeps me busy!  I’ve also been experimenting with fun things in my career like competitions, travel and classes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohhh there are so many! I love going to fun outdoor spaces so any rooftop bars, Nobu in Malibu, Elephante in Santa Monica. In LA you can go anywhere so I love going snowboarding in Big Bear or wine tasting in Temecula or Santa Barbara. Driving up Pacific Coast Highway is such a vibe. One summer I went jet skiing from Long Beach to Catalina Island that was SO much fun. Honestly anything with a drink in the sun count me in and LA is the place to be for that!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many! My best friend Cassie Siskovic who is also in the industry, she’s been by my side since high school/hair school and we always find projects to work on together. We are always bouncing ideas off of each other and discussing issues and solutions within our jobs. Her mother, Mary Siskovic who owns a salon outside of Cleveland, OH (Today’s Headlines Salon) were I grew up. I worked at her salon for 7 years before moving to LA. She was an amazing mentor and basically taught me everything I know about the business! Also have to give credit to my own intuition because that has lead me to everything I have right now!
