Meet Momus Media | Multimedia Production Company Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Momus Media and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Momus, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Naturally, anyone outside the industry may be unaware of the amount of time, effort and manpower it takes to make a movie. Even with credits shown at the beginning or end of movies, it’s hard for an audience to be aware of what they can’t see. It’s very similar to magic in the sense that you see the trick being performed but you don’t actually get to see all the work that’s gone into putting it together. There are three main parts to filmmaking: pre-production, filming and post-production. A film is only as good as its pre-production and the more organized you are leading up to filming, the less you’ll have to worry about during the shoot. This is the part of filmmaking that may not be as glamorous but makes all the difference. A lot of the groundwork for every project we work on is done by our production manager, Fabrizio Daniele. It’s difficult to imagine a better organized Pre-Production for a film than when Fabrizio is setting up a Momus media shoot. He keeps us shoots on budget which is easier said than done. Every little cost adds up and it is essential to keep track of expenses. One of the most stressful jobs to have on-set is to be a 1st AD. Whilst the director works with the actors, the 1st AD runs the show and the set could truly not function without them. Momus is lucky to have Charlotte Hendrickx who has been a lifesaver at countless times on set, with her attention to detail and her ability to keep on schedule. It can be hard to stand out in the oversaturated market of the entertainment industry. Luckily for Momus, Yasmin Le Comte is in charge of marketing. Yasmin has really helped Momus maintain its online presence, even during the unprecedented events of this year. Working in tandem with marketing is Oliver Boon who runs the Entertainment section of Momus Media, an online magazine that specialises at highlighting creatives, projects and events within the industry. At Momus Media LLC, there are currently a number of films in pre-production (Victoria, It’s Amore or (The Tragic Truth of Underestimation) and post-production (Beyond Malak, Zozo). We are currently getting ready to film an upcoming series of shorts written by Petteri Lassila and Nathan Madden. At the helm of the film department is Dominic Peloso who brings a creative spark and flair to the team. Another thing that people aren’t aware of enough is the concept that it doesn’t have to be so complicated to create your own content. Before Momus Media, the members of the group were just a few friends, finding some extra time to film at the weekend. From there we kept building up and bringing more people to the team and have been expanding and improving ever since! Being an internationally diverse group is a huge benefit as it provides a unique set of perspectives.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Momus Media LLC is a multimedia production company that was officially founded in July 2020 by Fabrizio Daniele, Oliver Boon, Charlotte Hendrickx, Dominic Peloso and Yasmin Le Comte. There are three main departments: Films, where multiple genres are produced, varying from dark comedies to romantic dramas; Entertainment, the blog section where various creatives within the industry are showcased, and Services where actors are provided with all the tools and resources (Websites, Demo Reels, Articles) they need to jumpstart their career and help them get to where they want to be. All members of the group graduated in the same year (class of 2019) at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts so everyone is fully aware of what it is like to be actors starting out in the industry. Everyone pooled together their knowledge and assets to offer clients the things they wished they had at the beginning of their careers. Dominic Peloso Dominic Peloso is the head of the film departement at Momus Media. He focuses on bringing in new scripts and ideas for the team to develop into short or feature length movies. Once a script is selected, Dominic begins the breakdown and development process, working in tandem with any writers or other outside sources on what they hope to accomplish with their piece. From there, he transitions to directorial or DP duties. Charlotte Hendrickx Charlotte Hendrickx is an actress, born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium. Growing up as an only child, forcing her to find ways to keep active on her own, she soon fell in love with the world of arts.Graduating college in 2016, with a degree in Human and Behavioral Sciences, Charlotte was ready to commit 100% and pursue her one true passion, acting! Yasmin Le Comte Yasmin Le Comte was born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2019. She was awarded the VandenEnde Foundation Scholarship to join the 2019/2029 Los Angeles Academy Company. Besides acting she loves good coffee and food! Fabrizio Daniele Born and raised in Switzerland by Italian parents, Fabrizio Daniele grew up with the Swiss mentality of handling money. He worked as a salesman for an insurance company on a commission based salary which increased his knowledge of marketing and customer service at the same time. He has a Sales and economics Degree. This is the first US company that he has started. Oliver Boon Born in UK but grew up in the Netherlands. Oliver studied at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire before moving to LA to study further at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In his meantime, he developed an interest in Sound Mixing, acquiring on-set experience over the last few years.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dom Peloso Reel Inn in Malibu is affordable fresh seafood fare right along the PCH. Can’t be beat in Summer!“ Charlotte Hendrickx “Malibu Beach, Point Dume, Meat on the ocean.” Yasmin Le Comte “I would definitely take them to Palm Springs!!! And Malibu! Such a different vibe then the rest of LA, I love it! It really feels like you are on a vacation, even though you are 1,5 hours away from the city!” Fabrizio Daniele “We would go to the beaches, (venice, Santa Monica, Malibu), we would eat at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood, Marinos (on Melrose) and at Osteria Mozza (Highlight and Beverly i think, or was it Highliand and Melrose?), I would show them Beverly Hills but also drive through skid row to show them that LA is not just beauty and success. If the bars are open we would go to Spire 73 in DTLA and to Breakroom 86.” Oliver Boon “I would take them on of the great hiking trails across LA like the the Haistin trail over by Franklin Canyon Park. For lunch I would take them to L’ Antica Pizzeria Da Michele and for drinks, I’d recommend a “secret” bar in Venice called ‘Old Lightning’. There’s a dress code and you have to check your phone in at the door. Best drinks I’ve ever had.”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Dominic Peloso “I’ll dedicate everything I have done to my parents who always push me to follow my dreams and chase the things I want, even in the darkest of times. They taught me to create, and to always be questioning the world around me. And to NEVER apologize for who I am. Their support is everything to me.” Charlotte Hendrickx “The Academy, My friend and family, My Momus family and my colleagues.” Yasmin Le Comte “I would like to thank my parents, family, friends, and school. They all taught me so much, I and made me believe in myself and dreams.“ Fabrizio Daniele My parents, the best example for me. They left Italy in search for a better future and life to raise their children. As a son of immigrants, that was the best gift. And me being an immigrant now will be the best gift for my children. It’s so important to remember where you come from, but knowing where you wanna go and that family always comes first, at least for me.“ Oliver Boon “I am dedicating this shout out to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Without attending this school, I would not have met likeminded individuals who helped make Momus Media a reality.”
