We had the good fortune of connecting with Mona Monique Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mona Monique, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It was during the early months of the pandemic, I was home browsing the internet looking to purchase some stuff for myself. In my search I had discovered a few sites that were wholesale. I did some research of wholesale companies and I started coming across a numerous amount of vendors for litteraly everything!

I started narrowing down the search to clothing, shoes and other accessories for woman and I immediately started brainstorming ideas of launching a womans boutique and I was determined to launch my business in a month.

I had immediately decided on my business name, applied for all the neccesary permits and had $1k set to invest in my inventory. it was alot of hard work, learning, and dedication but we managed to keep our goal and June 18th, 2020 became Monitaa Boutique’s official launch date!

What should our readers know about your business?
Monitaa Boutique is a small business that operates online but also has a brick and mortar location that we recently opened in September 2021. We are located In Huntington Park inside of Plaza Americana, an indoor swapmeet.

We carry a variety of Trendy clothing & accessories all at affordable prices! Nothing over $30! We LOVE making woman look and feel beautiful without breaking the bank!

What sets us apart from others has to be my dedication to my business. Everything I do from A-Z is done with much Love!
I listen to all feedback and always ensure we are satisfying everyone’s requests.

What we are most proud of is how far we have come in less than 2 years. To have a store was always a dream and to now have one is an enormous accomplishment.

Was it easy? Not really but I can say it was all worth it! All the restless nights, the stress, all the learning, and hard work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Planning a weekend out with a friend, our itinerary would be:

Saturday morniing we would head out for a morning hike at the Eaton Canyon Falls in Altadena. For a nice Brunch at Poppy & Rose near the flower district.

We would then head over to Santa Monica to enjoy the beach and later to the Pier. For a nice dinner and drinks at PERCH in DTLA.

Sunday we would head to Disneyland in Anaheim and enjoy the park and rides and have some lunch at the park.

Head back home and get ready to head to Rodeo Drive and to end the night have dinner at Mama por Dios.
