We had the good fortune of connecting with Montana Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Montana, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The most important thing for me its to be authentic to myself. When I lay my head down on the pillow at night I want to be satisfied that I was the designer of my destiny. Even when its hard, even when I have no leads for projects, even when I have grandeur success, I want it to be because I chose and took the sacrifice and bet on myself. Pursuing and becoming successful in my creative career is probably the hardest yet most fulfilling thing in my life. I thought about it – I created it – people enjoyed it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart from other creative agencies is that we don’t work with your traditional “lifestyle brands” like most agencies. A lot of our clients are Commercial Properties that are looking to advertise their properties in a whole different way because they know digital gets ignored. Our clients want a viral wow experience they can touch and feel and take home. The clients that come to us are a unique challenge – like revamping ridership for the Metro brand or creating an experiential educational experience for a recycling plant in LA that will become a landmark for the community. While we do enjoy the fun Nike activations or the “nightclub made out of balloons,” we love taking traditional companies and giving them a major facelift… Kind of like how Celine Dion’s new stylist really upgraded her new look with her wardrobe – woman is killing it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s a little hard to say during this time. We’d wake up and go for a hike at Temescal Canyon park (hopefully there into physical activity) After finished catch the lunch special at Soho House or have a picnic at the Gillette Ranch Set up a sailboat in Marina Del Rey Drive on Mullholland to catch the sunset while blasting music with the windows down.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost Ali Abbas for staying up with me in our DTLA loft late into the night creating the foundation Ocean for always entertaining my creative ideas and being the first team member I could really rely on my sister for always guiding me and teaching me and always telling me to up my price 🙂 Limi for being the first real friend I ever had while I was working full time for a corporate company who saw my potential in a technical world and embraced me and supported me always. Roy for stimulating my creative brain especially during this quarantine & of course myself for getting up every day, doing my best, even in uncertain times like now and still putting in energy toward Fill The City not knowing where I’m headed but just knowing that consistency and perseverance is key and that I have the power to impact brands and communities.
