Meet Nagihan ozturk | Producer & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nagihan ozturk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nagihan, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
I believe there’s no such thing as an end. When I reflect on each passing year, I realize that I’ve accomplished everything I aimed for. These goals may evolve depending on the opportunities that arise annually. Time is unpredictable, and our paths can shift unexpectedly. My ultimate goal in life is to seize the opportunities presented each year and to embrace the present moment to the fullest. So, achieving my highest potential in my music career is the ultimate goal in my life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I established my first business while residing in Istanbul.
Let me share the captivating journey of the brand I founded. It all began with a moment of clarity, sparked by the repeated suggestion from students visiting my home at their parents’ behest: “Ms. Nagihan, with so many students, why not open a school?” That resonated deeply with me, igniting the inception of my first venture. Thus, my music school, named “My Music Club,” was born—a platform where numerous young talents were nurtured, many of whom received scholarships, marking a pinnacle of fulfillment in my life.
What sets us apart, and fills me with pride, is our humble beginnings. I embarked on this endeavor without any initial fees or substantial investments, leveraging the foundation of over 30 students already under my tutelage. This taught me a profound lesson: the essence of entrepreneurship lies not solely in capital, but in seizing opportunities and nurturing them with passion and dedication. To aspiring entrepreneurs, I offer this counsel: never underestimate the power of your resources and capabilities.
Reflecting on our journey thus far, my heart swells with anticipation for the path ahead, characterized by strides even grander than before. My utmost excitement lies in continuing our mission with unwavering commitment, enriching lives through the language of music, and empowering budding talents to reach their fullest potential.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This question holds a special place in my heart because, having explored over 20 countries, I find the Caribbean islands, where I resided for a year, resonate with me profoundly. They epitomize a fusion of art, natural beauty, and vibrant production—a blend that truly defines me.
South America holds a special allure for me, particularly due to its rich street culture, delectable street food, and boundless passion for art. Among its nations, Mexico stands out as my favorite. Its lush greenery, expansive forests, captivating museums, and diverse culinary delights make it a haven for exploration. Its myriad cultures never fail to intrigue me, ensuring that every visit is filled with excitement and discovery.
Similarly, Cuba and Colombia evoke a sense of wonder and delight in me. Each boasts its own unique culinary traditions and rich musical heritage, enough to fill countless pages with description. In essence, I find myself drawn to the vivacious and vibrant tapestry of Latin culture, which continually captivates and inspires me.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My career journey kicked off with a bold move, leaving Ankara’s conservatory behind and diving headfirst into Istanbul. I was young, full of dreams, and maybe a bit clueless, but oh-so-hopeful and happy. You know, believing in that whole “right person, right time” thing? For a good seven years, I and this mentor of mine shared more than just a home; we shared wisdom, laughs, and a whole lot of learning.
He had this mix of durableness, foresight, hard work, knowledge, vision, and kindness that just blew me away. His presence gave me this rock-solid confidence like I could take on anything life threw at me. And believe me, life wasn’t holding back on the challenges. That’s why whenever I felt like I was drowning, his advice still rings in my ears. And most importantly, having met people who will remind you of your past so well and who have touched your life so beautifully.
He’s the reason that is the biggest reason for my courage here today, and I can’t thank him enough. So, here’s to you, mentor, for being the anchor in my crazy journey.
