We had the good fortune of connecting with Naomi Ayende and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naomi, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Growing up in Puerto Rico taught so many thing, to be resilient, to be strong, to never give up and to be independence, because unfortunately we will not be a kids all our life. An on my path to becoming a working actress those word come to my mind always, especially on an industry like Hollywood that is not and easy one. They impact me on every aspect, but I always look back to that girl running the house singing and dancing trying to entertain her family and if I have any doubt it just give me what I need to continue.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Like I mention I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and before moving to Los Angeles I have put my dream of becoming an actress aside. But putting it a side kind of was an obstacle for what I was pursing at that time to be my career. When I enter university for my undergrad I decide to go with biology because I have always been the girl who wants to help. So my mine set was becoming a doctor. Once I start I realize that even I wanted to be my career it was not for me, and I change major to something I really taught it was going to be my life career Political Science to then enter Law School. But while studying for the exam to enter law school, my acting vein was like you need to try before quitting. So I did I enter a theater school in PR and everything change I knew I was where I belong and that was what I really wanted, and that how I got to LA. I came did a MFA on Acting and now I’m auditing and hustling to be where I want to be that is on TV or the big screen. Who knows and both!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh with the Covid pandemic is a little difficult, but let imagine we are back to normal, I will take my friend or family to Big Bear I just love that city. Also to the beaches, a road trip to the PCH, hiking, to dance salsa I would introduce them to the people I know here in LA, because that its important that my to life Puerto Rico and LA become one and I think a trip/visit like that will definitely would do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this to many people. First, my parents and my family they have been so supporting and giving me encouragement when I need it, and even that I have them many miles away I know they are cheering for me and praying for me everyday. My friend and my actors friend who have been also supportive and always are happy to see me on what I do even if its a small role. And last but definitely no least, to my boyfriend who since we meet he has been there for me, also knowing how this industry is since he is also an actor. Thank You Everyone from the bottom of my Heart!
