We had the good fortune of connecting with Nataly Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nataly, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel that risks always lead to growth, regardless of the result. If you fail there’s a lesson in that; if you are successful as a result of the risk taken, you build confidence in your ability to leap & grow wings on the way down. Every time I’ve taken a risk, my life has expanded in incredible ways. From leaving the safety of 9-5 jobs (more than once), to following the whispers of my soul, and letting my passion guide me. Every single risk has contributed to a life that I see as truly magical… and what’s the fun in staying within your comfort zone anyway?

I am a mindset and empowerment coach for women, but what I do I like to call soul-work. I created my coaching business and podcast, both named FitSoul, after my own journey helped me understand that whatever I kept seeking was not OUTSIDE of me. My worth, my fulfillment, love and everything else all start with reconnecting to my internal GPS, my soul. I spent so many years thinking I had to have a smaller waist size, shrinking myself, developing eating disorders and all along the way having an unhealthy relationship with myself. It was until a cancer scare woke me up to the realization that when we are out of alignment with ourselves we will see many signs, until it manifests in dis-ease of the body. When I changed my approach, shifted the toxic things in my life and healed myself, that was when I realized I wanted to help other women take control of their health, happiness, life, and ultimately become their most empowered version.
I had many doubts of whether I could actually make this a business. I didn’t know the how or where to start, but I always took ONE next step. And every time I took action I got more clarity, I got more confidence. I left my job in television and radio last year to go full force in my business, and even through a pandemic never lost a client (in fact I got 2 more). What I want people to know, specifically women, is that their dreams are possible. Is that within you is an incredible potential that we often limit because of fear and doubt. We play small because we don’t feel we are enough as we are. Who am I to create the life I want? Who am I to heal? Who am I to be happy? And we create a story and identity around playing small and suffering.
I share my story because I hope that in it someone identifies themselves and realizes I am not special… if I can create the life I want from a vision, so can you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite spots is Manhattan beach. I love a little spot for sushi there called Rice. And right down the street from there is my favorite açaí bowl spot, Paradise Bowls!
I love chill spots, closer to nature, so the beach, the sand. And definitely staying away from that LA traffic.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To shoutout just ONE person or even just one book would not feel right. Amazing mentors have appeared at every stage of my life, I have an endless list of books that have changed my life. But I guess if I HAD to choose, it would be two people. My mom, who gave me life, and because of her, even though she’s no longer on this earth, I am who I am. And my daughter, who is 8 months old. Lulu Rose has already inspired me and changed me in more ways than I can count. It is because of her that I am more motivated than ever.
