We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Franchesco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been a relentless combination of discipline, genre versatility, and self-reliance. I’ve built my brand from the ground up with no major label or team — just a deep musical foundation, sharp instincts, and a DIY mindset. I’ve released jazz, hard rock, bossa nova, funk, and more — all performed, arranged, and produced independently. That artistic freedom is what drives me — and it’s helped establish a reputation that’s both authentic and respected. My goal was never to follow trends — it was to create music that’s timeless and skill-forward, and that continues to pay off.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets my art apart is that it’s fully instinctive — I’ve played by ear and instinct most of my entire life and can shift from classical to funk to metal without overthinking it. I don’t follow trends or templates. I built my sound in basements, backrooms, and bedroom studios long before that was cool — and long before I had any real outside help. I’m proud of being genre-fluid, able to create something raw and human in one track and fully orchestrated or jazz-inflected in another.
Was it easy? Not at all. I went through burnout, rejection, medical issues, and long stretches of silence. But I never stopped. I taught myself how to record, mix, arrange, and handle branding and press — because no one was going to hand that to me. I did this on grit and discipline.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is: no one owes you recognition, but you can earn it if you outlast the noise. I don’t try to impress with gimmicks — I focus on tone, intention, and work ethic. I want the world to know that real skill and independent vision still matter. I’ve stayed lean, hungry, and sharp — and every note you hear from me is played, not programmed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m drawn to the quieter edges of LA — Woodland Hills and Calabasas always hit a certain peaceful, cinematic vibe for me. There’s something about the air, the layout, the drive through those areas that just clears your head. I’m not about chasing scenes or tourist traps — give me open roads, a decent view, and a soundtrack in the car and I’m good.

Even just cruising the freeways with some good music( no matter the style or genre)on my way to a destination. There’s clarity in that motion. Probably grab something chill and not too heavy to eat — maybe a clean meal at a local spot tucked away from the crowd. It wouldn’t be about showing off landmarks; it’d be about decompressing from the noise, letting the rhythm of LA sink in, and finding inspiration from the in-between moments.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to the quiet believers — the people who showed support not for clout or credit, but because they genuinely believed in the craft. To the musicians, online friends who have been IMMENSELY supportive, mentors, engineers, and even strangers who offered encouragement without knowing the full story — your presence mattered more than you think. This journey’s been built on discipline, solitude, and grit, but it’s those silent moments of support that added fuel to the fire.
