We had the good fortune of connecting with NATHALIE WILLIAMS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi NATHALIE, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance in the beginning of my entrepreneurship was very hard. When I first started my business, I still was working a job, full time pursuing my degree, a full-time mom and wife. It was difficult deciding how to take on everything while be able to give everything its full attention. Time management was definitely a lesson that I had to learn. As entrepreneurs we run ourselves crazy trying to take on the world. Feeling like if you’re not doing the most you’re not doing enough. I learned that was not the case. Sometimes to achieve the balance you have to also look at everything you are doing and decide if you really need to do all these things.
Creating a schedule that allows everything its time and penciling out to recharge when needed. Balanced was needed in my life and I adapted to making time for everything I wanted to but in a way that made sure none of my projects, family members or even myself was getting shorted. Especially self-care. Those are my best days, typically Sunday where I take time to reset and fresh my mind and body. Balance is important in everything you do, no pause button will burn you out.
I tell my clients all the time to develop a time management plan to keep a healthy balance in their life. It is not always easy and it takes time to create a flow but its very much needed.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company is a business management consulting firm. We help business from start to finish in every aspect of their business. It can range from the beginning stages of starting a business to a more established stage needed to scale up. As the owner I pride my business knowledge on having a business degree and currently pursuing a double master’s degree in business as well. Everything I learn is poured back into our clients to ensure that they have all the tools to run a successful business. We help with websites, marketing material, and everything needed for your business. We have helped over 100 businesses with their growth and development.
The challenges that we have overcome has come during the peak of the pandemic. When Covid-19 surfaced and the world went on lock down so many businesses had to close. This as a rough place for us because a lot of businesses had to make cuts and, in some cases, we where one of them. This is where resilience plays a part. Being able to reinvent and revamp. We had to revamp our business to fit the needs of clients in pandemic. Understanding what they needed to survive the closing of their business or helping them cultivate new ways to stay open and remain safe. This was a lesson for everyone. We all had to learn new skills and ways of doing things.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are a few places in my city to go to and have a great time. When it comes to the food I am veganish ( working my way to being full vegan) I would send them to HipCity Veg for the most amazing vegan food in town, my favorite is the smoke house burger. For drinks and fun the city has so much to offer I would take them to JG Skyhigh to relax in their lounge and enjoy some martinis.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am a book lover my go to book for motivation and a reminder of my purpose is The Alchemist by Pablo Coelho. I have read this book 3 times and my fourth is coming up soon. It has helped me with understanding my purpose or should I say personal legend. This is my best read for regrouping my goals and my thoughts.
