We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly it’s been a form of self expression. Simple and plain. It’s been something that’s always help me process or translate what I feel and what’s been happening in my life and how it looks through my eyes. It’s always been something that’s help me learn more about myself and how I cope with society and relationships. There was just something inside me that had to come out so I had to find out how to give it out. I needed a technique, some type of craft whether it be musical notation or visual art works and symphonies. It needed to be expressed, in some shape or matter of form. Utilizing whatever tools at hand and learnt necessary for me to create a world of my own to showcase….. myself really? It’s something that’s been therapy but also a love of nature. It started off as basic drawing as a child, to making music videos with vhs tapes and cd player syncing up that I would play for myself, to discovering music that took me to other places and wanting to learn how to do and make that for my own.
I was inspired, and I wouldn’t turn back at all, this is a path I’ve chosen for myself and i absolutely love it and I think within that is a form of self love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Wow what a load of question but let’s see where I can start, I honestly feel like there is no act way that tell you apart from everyone else than being your truest self. Obviously we get influenced by others, surroundings and habits to build our character and craft but what truly separates me is just me being….
Me. I had to come to terms of who I was, who I am, Who I am becoming and how that affects my art work.
My development. Life has a been a tremendous journey full of pains and hurt more than luxuries to say the least but within that I find myself. Like steel being forged. From all the hardships I’ve felt with, to all the no’s l’ve been told in this industry, how I don’t fit in to certain crowds or collectives. It’s something that keeps me true to my path and I love that, because it shows how dedicated I stay to myself and what I make as art. It’s had it’s ups and downs and definitely taught me glot of lessons of people places and things. SO many difficulties about how music or art is made or worked with, faults with equipment, projects never coming out the way I want them in the end result than what I imagined but I believe thats what all these things are for, problem solving. It teaches us me more about myself and how to be in a constant flow of the craft and its works. I think my end goal is to basically tell a story of all this and it relate to people in a way that helps then as other artist helped or inspired me. Telling a story of all the joy and darkness lives trials made me endure. All the pain all the anger and destruction but also all the joy, love, harmony, clarity and selflessness that comes with it, I want to give back what was given to me with all this music and art that l’ve come to love along with being the best absolute version of myself. Doing that to the fullest extent and making a bang in the cosmos, I can’t wait to show you guys 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
OOOF another load question but lets see. I would honestly take said person on a daily adventure with my on the things I do. Start off with a beach trip to Laguna Beach, show them the hikes, secret coves and night life of a southern Californian. (I absolutely love that place) from there maybe adventure around the typical LA places I love like the Griffith, Little Tokyo, Arcade Theater, Silver Lake, LA and Hollywood Recording Studios, City rooftops (too many too name). Bars Like Seven Grand, Paris, Bottegg Louie, The Joey, Rising Sun, Beetle House, Angel City, Candle Lit Secret Club, Girl & The Goat and god knows how many after hours of rooftop cinema clubs. Art Exhibits like The Getty (especially on Saturdays) The Broad Silver Lake Flea Market, Space City Vintage, LA je T’gime. Probably go get a tattoo along the lines at Baron Tattoo, goto Death & Co. At least ONE Dodger game. If they where down for the road trip them to camp out in Malby. I can go on and on here. LA has been my home, born and raised so when it come to a
“daily” activity there’s alot to choose fro here. Heck some days I just goto a park of my choosing, sit down and draw or color. Meditate on the world and relax in the sun light, life is a luxury and I take advantage of it any way I can no matter how little or extravagant it is

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh man there’s a lot of people that I would to shout out. First and foremost I have to thank all my peers and fellow collective of artist that keep me on my toes. Influence me to do better and whenever they release or do things I see it as form of friendly rivalry/ inspiration to make my craft and do better.
