Meet Nico Marley: Founder of Lion X Wellness

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nico Marley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nico, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Many things inspired me to launch Lion X Wellness. Lion X Wellness represents some of my heritage and provides a balanced, holistic, and modern approach to wellness, especially for those pursuing their best life. We hope through Lion X Wellness, we can bring positive change into the world and use these actions to inspire others to do the same.

As an athlete and entrepreneur, I have a passion for performance, health, and innovation. Throughout my years playing football, I’ve realized the importance of a high-performance health regime and how that played a vital role in how I performed on and off the field. Football is an extremely physical sport, and you have to keep yourself in the best shape possible. I’d use CBD during this time to help soothe sore muscles, sharpen my mind, and nourish my body. After seeing how it positively affected me, I wanted to make it more accessible to those who need it the most. I’m on a mission to create my own legacy and empower people to discover their best self or their “inner lion” through Lion X Wellness CBD.

What should our readers know about your business?
Lion X Wellness is a Black-owned and operated CBD and wellness line that intends to heal our communities and provide restorative wellness that sharpens the mind, strengthens the body, and fuels the soul. What set’s Lion X Wellness apart from the rest is the Marley heritage and my passion for fitness and performance.

I started taking CBD during my junior year of college when football season was beginning. This sport takes a lot out of you, and I wanted something natural to help me focus before a game and help me recover after one. When I found CBD, it was perfect! My family had always spoken about natural healing for years, and this is something that could help me manage pain as well as boost overall wellness naturally. As I searched for my new purpose, I thought about all the things I was passionate about; natural healing, my family history, and helping others. Lion X Wellness is all of those things for me. It incorporates a modern evolution of my family’s philosophies and my passions for the game, performance, and overall wellness.

Coming into this, our main goal with Lion X Wellness was to inspire people to be their best selves through natural healing and holistic wellness. Being able to continue to fulfill our mission is extremely rewarding. It only makes me want to work harder to continue to give our community more products, initiatives that they can participate in, and more ways to access Lion X Wellness. It’s been an amazing experience inspiring people and educating people on CBD. Our success has made all the hard work we put in worth it, and I hope to continue to grow Lion X Wellness into a household name.

We’ve faced a few challenges, but what company doesn’t? No matter what you pursue, you will face bumps in the road, but it’s important to overcome those. On our team, we always try to look at the bright side of things, and being so optimistic has truly worked in our favor.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Right now, I’m in Miami, Florida! A few of my favorite places to eat and drink are Clive’s Cafe, KYU, Mandolin Aegean Bistro, and Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen. These spots are a guaranteed good time. Since I have a passion for fitness, you can always find me at Legacy Fit gym! With the world’s current situation, I do spend a lot of time at home. It’s important to me that I take the proper steps to help lessen the curve and keep everyone healthy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, someone who deserves a shout-out and someone who encourages me every day is my partner and co-founder, Gaetan Khawly. Gaetan is the man behind the scenes, and he makes sure everything gets done in a timely and orderly fashion. Without him, this journey wouldn’t have been the same, and I am so thankful to have him by my side.
