We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Twyman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I prefer to call my business a ministry; as my team and I intentionally give of ourselves far more than we receive. I’m a proud servant leader of the divas of Fit, Fyne & Fabulous; a virtual health and wellness support group specifically targeted to support black and brown women across the globe.
According to data released in Feb 2020 by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, the obesity rate in America reached 42.4% in 2017 – 2018; surpassing 40% for the first time in history! What’s more frightening is at 49.6%, the obesity rate was the absolute highest among black adults. You read that right, almost 1/2 of all black adults are obese according to the CDC!
Obesity is a serious concern because it is the leading cause of preventable death in the US and worldwide, including heart disease, stroke and even some types of cancer. This past year we watched as African Americans died at a rate of 2.4 times higher than their non-Black counterparts, according to the COVID Tracking Project. This is due to long-standing inequalities in US healthcare & food supply where African Americans have struggled with receiving health coverage & equal access to healthy food supplies.
It is my mission to lessen the impact of the inequalities mentioned above; and, also highlighted in mainstream media. My ministry / business’ lessens the impact by doing our part to end the trend of obesity in America; and in the Black and Brown communities specifically thru:
1. Education (online courses on nutrition, weight loss, dieting)
2. Motivation ( daily texts & Social media posts, weekly celebrations of new habits and weight / inches lost)
3. Sisterhood (virtual community support of likeminded women)
4. Tools & Techniques (planners, journals, meal prep supplies, measuring tapes, water bottles)
5. Food (recipes, meal prep tips, meal prep classes, cooking classes)
6. Inspiration (virtual bible studies, book clubs, body transformations / testimonials)
7. Fitness (Weekly Fit Bit & Apple Watch Step group challenges, group Workout challenges, Fitness performance leader boards)
Our solution to weight loss is from a whole woman perspective; workouts and recipes are not enough! We support a healthy body, a healthy mind and a healthy spirit while helping women learn how to organize their lives around making wider long term choices from a physical, financial and mental perspective.
I am the very proud owner of Fit, Fyne & Fabulous where we are changing lives and shift generational health blueprints every day.
What should our readers know about your business?
Same as previous question You can also pull from my pervious interview since this is the same question.
I”m pasting the previous question for your convenience here:

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my children! Amari Twyman, a 17 year soccer enthusiast and Jaye Twyman an 11 year old competitive dancer! Just knowing they are watching me build a brand from the ground up is enough to keep me motivated. I preach to them daily about not quitting on their endeavors when things get hard or complicated; and, I try my very best to drive for excellence and true results each and every day, simply because I know Amari & Jaye are watching.
My kiddos are my two greatest inspirations!
