Meet Niko Dobbs | Physical Therapist & Massage Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Niko Dobbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Niko, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was driven by a desire to provide high-quality, individualized care without the constraints often found in traditional clinic settings. I wanted to create an experience where clients feel truly heard and supported throughout their recovery or wellness journey. By offering in-home physical therapy and massage services, I can meet people where they are—both physically and in their healing process.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run Dobbs Physical Therapy and Massage, where I bring one-on-one physical therapy and massage services directly to people’s homes in the Pasadena and surrounding areas. What makes my business unique is my background. Being both a licensed massage therapist and a board certified orthopedic specialist gives me a well-rounded perspective and the ability to treat a wide variety of conditions, from everyday aches to more complex rehab cases. I also work outside of insurance, which means I can focus fully on what each client truly needs, without being limited by visit caps or approval requirements.
I’m proud of creating a service that feels personal, flexible, and focused on real results. It definitely has not been easy getting here. Starting a business comes with a steep learning curve, but I continue to learn so much along the way. The biggest lesson? Relationships and trust matter more than anything.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that healing can be convenient, empowering, and even enjoyable. That’s what I aim to bring to every session.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d want to show them the best of what Pasadena has to offer, great food, fun activities, and a laid-back vibe. We’d start with a trip to The Huntington Library. It’s such a peaceful spot, with stunning gardens that we could easily spend hours exploring. For dinner, we’d head to Daisy Mint, our favorite Thai spot that never disappoints.
One of the days we would also spend a few hours at Victory Park, it’s the perfect place to get some friends together and play volleyball or spike ball. It’s always a blast, and a great way to stay active and have fun. For dinner, we’d hit up Ramen Tatsunoya for some of the best ramen in town, and walk over to Salt & Straw for dessert after.
Throughout the stay we would probably get some coffee at Lavender & Honey and Poke from Poke Salad Bowl in Old Town.
