Meet Nikos Isihos | Bespoke Jewelry designer and motorsports enthusiast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikos Isihos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikos, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Back in 2023, when I decided to move to LA. My family has owned a restaurant in South Jersey my entire life, and i’ve worked there since I was about 13. Long hours and no freedom were the issues I could not let my late 20s/30s be defined by. I decided to move to LA and help my friends with their picture car company and decided to push for myself and start something I can claim as my own. When I made the decision, I had no idea at all what world my claim would live in, and certainly didn’t see a future in bespoke jewelry. As many if not most of the current LA demographic, I had to make the decision to leave my parents and family/friends in search of something bigger for my future; something immigrant parents are famously not entirely supportive of hahah.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think critical thinking is what helped me find my niche. When I moved to LA and decided to “push my brand”, I had no idea what that meant or what that brand even was. But when the creatives in my life and new friends I made out here spoke, I tried to digest their ideas to the best of my ability. I spent many nights wide awake wondering what defined me and what was something I knew that, had I hatched the idea, my brain would adhere to and see it to the end. I knew it had to be original, simple, and something I could be the first in. I spent weeks asking other jewelers/ artists, researching and looking to see if someone had this idea before me. I mean, it’s so simple; it’s a wheel design in a signet ring. There are thousands of timeless wheel designs that many people have been in love with for so long, it’s wild that the patterns have never been recognized as something more than a 15lb piece of rotating metal. There are some gorgeous patterns that you can put in a circle.
I was over the moon when I realized I would be the first to create something that evokes nostalgia, enhances an outfit, and also signifies to others that you know what’s up with the car scene. So to say it was easy is a bit of an understatement, but in hindsight it really was easy. You just step back and say “what do I like? What do people know me for, and where is the intersection?” Well, I love my silver rings and accessories, and i’ve postponed home ownership because of the race cars I decided to build in my 20’s. The day I realized “huh, wheels are round right? This is it!”. It’s not really a groundbreaking or revolutionary idea, but it is one that required clear thinking and a simple approach, and it’s an idea I take pride in seeing through to where it is, 9 months in. And to see the traction we’ve gained and the collaborations we’ve been apart of as tangible entities has proven that if you keep your foot on the gas, no matter how silly the idea, you can make it happen with motion.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friends are all heavy car enthusiasts, and we love driving to the arts district for coffee. We do this very often; friends come into town, we’ll make some phone call and the guys show up with the noise makers and we drive them around to the grungy city scapes with the most graffiti because car pictures look better there. We’ll go street drifting late at night and find a taco spot somewhere at 2 am to refuel. Whatever they want to do while they’re out here, we can slip in somewhere in the day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is a small group of people responsible for my current position in life, and it’s because everything I do is for them and to make them proud. Eric Teti, Sebastian Rodriguez, Jon Corsiglia, Mike Koziel, my parents, my loving and ever so incredibly supportive partner Destiny, and of course Mason and Colin from Al’s General in Arts District that gave me my first and current LA gig to help me get on my feet. They’ve all supported me without fail and respectfully call me on my BS when I need it most – staying grounded by your circle is key.
