We had the good fortune of connecting with Olga Guseva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olga, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think that in the Life should be balanced as much as possible. Being a professional and a Mom at the same moment sometime can be tricky but it changes completely the game when you can actually do something that your son loves and that you can do with him as well sometimes. I managed to transfer my passion of food, design, art to him and he is the inspiration of any new dish I create. Every time I am in front of people/guests and I should make something live, I always have his surprised and happy face in front of me when we experiment something together! I manage to create a perfect balance between the work aspect and the joy from my work as a food creatore and food designer. Sometime I receive a question how can I always be with the smile and why I look never tired. My answer is always the same. I manage to work with products made by the Mother Earth, with the most successful Brands in the World and all of them are from the most beautiful place in the World: Italy, which is for sure considered the number one country in food and beverage. It depends only on you how you manage to give balance to your personally life and business every day. Nobody can direct your Life as yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Design and Creation were always present in my Life since I was a kid. My Mom could not believe I could manage to make an amazing tiramisu’ at the age of 6 and then the passion on learning new recipes. When I was 12 I traveled to Italy with my family and I completely fell in love with the country, culture, and even more with the food. I told them that I wanted to come back in Moscow and to learn Italian and to come back to live in Italy. I have started to make Italian food, studying all recipes and one day I had chance to meet in person the famous Chef Michele Casadei Massari. I can say I have started to understand the appreciation of quality of the ingredients, the perfect pairing in food creations from him. At that point I was ready to move in Italy! It was not easy for me, a young woman, to represent amazing already very famous brands. I love challenges and this was the reason why I have decided to move then to the United States, and during one of my trips as Brand Ambassador I met again my mentor Michele who was working at the Ferrari Challenge in Laguna Seca for two of the most amazing brands in the World: Ferrari and Urbani Truffles

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are beautiful places in Los Angeles, and, for sure, my favorite are parks, especially in Pasadena Area. Japanese garden is my favorite. I love to walk in the Griffith Park, I love the Getti Museum, and I have huge passion of Moraga Winey in Beverly Hills. It is amazing to have a Vineyard in the center of Los Angeles. I love the Hollywood Museum. My favorite restaurants are Yamashiro, it has amazing environment, Crustacean, Felix, Terra in Eataly, Da Pasquale in Beverly Hills, which is an authentic Italian trattoria, Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I should for sure thank some of the Brands I have worked with:  Gelatissimo in Moscow, which was my first experience in the industry, Barrique group and Anima e Core in Italy, that taught me a lot, the most famous brand in the world in the Truffle industry – Urbani Truffles, the most successful bubbles producer (Franciacorta) Ca’ del Bosco and an Italian food brand called Crateful, which gave me very successful experience.
