Meet Pamela Lising: PM Crystals Founder & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Lising and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Greatness starts with gratitude” I remember the day I stumbled upon this when I was healing through something very traumatic and personal, but I saw this quote and started crying. This has been my mantra and go-to whenever I feel like I lose myself in stressful situations, lose ambition or lack motivation. To me, it’s a way to get out of a negative mindset because if you look at it, if you are able to even read this article, consider yourself that 1% of the world population that is truly blessed. You have the ability to read and the privilege of using technology. It’s not a matter of comparing yourself to others, it’s about counting the opportunities you have in this lifetime. I look at life as being short because nothing is promised. Day by day, I am so grateful to wake up in a healthy body with a positive mind to attempt to make my days better and better. In a world that is so dark and gray, it’s important to me to be a light in someway. I believe success and greatness comes with a good heart and gratitude. I believe I have the opportunity to make some difference in this world – a good difference. Being thankful for everything in life, even the negative aspects of. it, has brought me to where I’m at today. It’s a beautiful gift. 

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
PM Crystals is a small crystal online shop (for now) that launched on August 20, 2020. My cousin, Angela and I opened it as a safe space for anyone that wants to get in touch with themselves. Our motto is “It all starts from within”, meaning that your mindset and outcomes all start with you and how you view yourself. We sell crystals from all over the world from Brazil to Madagascar. Each crystal is unique and rare as they are gifts of Mother Nature that have healing properties. All vary. What most people don’t understand about crystals is that they are meant to be used as tools to assist in manifestation, healing or just a form of protection from negative energy. They also promote mental, physical, emotional and spiritual healing. This is because they interact with one’s energy and chakras and can promote alignment. It’s really an investment for yourself. We also sell custom manifestation or zodiac boxes made to order. These are based on the client’s zodiac sign and characteristics or whatever they want to manifest. Examples include self love, prosperity, stress relief, etc. We are mainly on Instagram for now because we are able to interact with the crystal community and gain this personal connection. I’m a person that leads from the heart and I’m a Cancer, so I have this nurturing aspect of me that will always be there for anyone to the best of my ability. How did I get here? I honestly have no idea. It blows my mind everyday. I still can’t believe I get to live this life. I was actually in community college for nursing a year ago and last spring semester of 2019, I switched to business after I discovered that I had a lot of leadership in me. I opened this shop out of impulsiveness. One night, Angela and I were in the car and I just looked at her and said “I’m just going to open up a business”. I really didn’t have a plan, I just wanted it so bad. And it’s just been working out. It was not easy, I believe any business owner can relate to this. Opening something very valuable to you comes with blood, sweat and tears… many, many, many tears. But, I didn’t give up and I believe it’s totally worth it. It’s really just a mindset. Honestly as shocking as it is… TikTok definitely helped. We made a video of some of our manifestation and zodiac boxes we sell and it blew up on there. We received over 300 orders our first month of opening. I believe Angela and I can agree that we learned to not take more than what we can handle and to lead with our heart, but not let those take advantage. I want everyone to know that once you start to accept what they want for themselves and accept what they are capable of, then they have the ability to live the life they strive for. And that they are loved and it’s not too late to work on yourself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an LA girl forever. Born and raised, so obviously the beach for a beautiful sunrise or sunset. Point Dume in Malibu is my favorite place to getaway for a little bit. They have dolphins and seals and I kid you not, I feel like a five year old every time I see them. They also have gorgeous hiking trails nearby, so that could be part of my itinerary. I actually love working out, too, so I would take them boxing to try something new. My favorite place is Rumble Boxing on Melrose. Wabi on Rose for food for sure. They have the best sushi, best vibes and best staff ever. All so very welcoming and I swear the BEST food I have ever had. I always have it at least once every two weeks. It’s located in Venice Beach, so a nice picnic would be cute to go with it on the beach. I feel like I’m a foodie and I rely on Yelp a lot, so anything that looks good and has a cute aesthetic has my heart when it comes to brunch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Literally everyone I have met and encountered brought me to where I am today, so thank you. Shoutout to my parents, Laarni and Pompeii, and my immediate family. They are a huge part of my life and have kept me humble, grounded and filled with gratitude. Especially, my cousin, Angela. She’s my right hand and my go-to. She helped me open up PM Crystals during a pandemic and has been so patient and supportive ever since we were babies – she’s practically my sister at this point. Shoutout to my circle: Dabney – my childhood best friend that has showed up for me in more ways than one since I was five. Angelica – my mentor, travel buddy and reminder to always live a little, and Luka – my best friend and better half, you make me better. Shoutout to my high school best friends, Makayla and Krista for continuing to support me since and for believing in me when no one else did. My Beatbike family – the first job I’ve ever had that made me realize what potential I had because of the community, leadership and love that circulates the studio from the instructors, team and riders. Big big big shoutout to the PM Crystals family. Thank you for helping us grow in a matter of almost five months. I wouldn’t be here without you.
