We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris Holland and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paris, why did you pursue a creative career?
Being a creative is limitless. There are absolutely no limits to what you can create and all of the ways to do it. I’ve learned a good number of ways to create and tell stories – through modeling, fashion, and tech and I truly enjoy the process as well as the results. This is what truly brings me joy!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I went to schools that had an emphasis on visual arts throughout my growing up so I have always learned to do things hands-on and visually. I create through my main outlets: modeling/fashion, botany, and technology. Throughout the years I’ve tried many mediums, sometimes doing well, sometimes not, but my favorites are in those ways with telling stories through posing and clothing, botany being specifically in gardening and cannabis, and tech being in web and graphic design. Each outlet intersects with each other so it’s both enjoyable and easy for me to interchange those outlets. All of course, for fun! Because I’ve created as a fun learning and growing process, I’ve become very skilled in those mediums to which I do now professionally within those respective industries. I like to describe my style as vibrant: I’m inspired by lots of neon lights, Miami, vaporwave, Y2K type of visuals as well as nature, earth, vibrant greens, browns, and gold, Bioluminescence, and old world, Victorian and Parisian fashion and aesthetics. Those are my favorite three. As of lately, I am learning 3D design so I am very much studying my friends and family’s as well as other unique individuals’ faces to create 3D avatars of them and eventually learn to do both stylized and hyper realistic character/scenes! I like to call these projects “Metaverse photoshoots”. In this way, everything is eternal and limitless. There is no limit to what can be created within the Metaverse and I find that so fascinating! Learning is also eternal. Til however long I may be within this reality, I will forever be learning and I encourage others to never stop learning.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them up Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu State Beach to go bird watching as there are a few different species of birds during the spring season that nest there and bird watching is one of my favorite activities along with hiking! I’d also take them to Topanga Canyon as it’s also gorgeous there and there’s a lot of plant activity to be seen! Then we’d grab some sushi at one of my favorite spots – Rize Thai Sushi in Santa Monica. I have a secret botany spot I haven’t taken many friends to, it’s near the Poppy Reserve in Lancaster haha shhhh. Another environment I adore is more out towards the desert stretching from Joshua Tree to Anza Borrego! It’s teeming with wildlife, plant activity, and lots of hiking as well! Honestly, if it’s any friend who’s an outdoorsy person, we’re going camping! I don’t mind either glamping if we’re feeling boujee, or full blown camping dirty LOL! I encourage everyone visiting to pull up to the less touristy hiking spots, there’s many all over the map of Los Angeles! Being outside around green and earth is so very healthy for us all!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to nominate my sister Brittnee for reminding me to trust the process, be patient, and keep persisting in what I want regardless of the circumstances!
