We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris Page and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paris, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I first started off as an attorney, I used to work for a billing hour firm. I had to work long hours usually 8:00 am- 8:00pm and work on the weekends as well. At this rate, it felt like all I did was work, eat and sleep. I missed out on seeing family and friends. I cut out my hobbies that I loved to do such as writing, traveling and having beach days. I started to replace my fun hobbies with food. Food became my comfort because I could at least have some enjoyment while working in the office. I started to realize I was not happy and I needed to make a change. I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own practice. That was the best decision I have ever made. The funny part is I still will work long hours and on the weekends sometimes but it is different when you are putting in long hours for your own business. I am also in control of my calendar so If I want to go on a mini road trip I can set my schedule to make it work. I do not have to miss out on being there for family and friends. I have added exercise to my routine. I even get more time with my fur babies now.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Page Law in 2015, which will be transitioning to Page and Nguyen APC the summer of 2022. I chose to team up with my law partner Tracy Nguyen because we have the same morals and values. We are empaths and truly care for people and want to help any way we can. There are a lot of Workers Compensation and Personal Injury firms out there, but I believe what sets us apart is that we get to know our clients and their stories. We learn what is important to them and what their goals are. We give our personal cell numbers to our clients so that they can reach us and even text us questions or concerns. My law partner and myself have visited clients in the hospital, perform wellness checks, or try to give them time to just listen to them. Sometimes people just need to be heard. I cannot tell you how many times I have had clients to thank me just for listening. Another important part of my firm is we walk the clients through every step of the process. Law is never guaranteed but we try to explain a road map of all the different possible roads their cases might go through so there are not too many surprises.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okay this sounds fun! For one I am a breakfast person so we are going to hit up Fratelli Cafe on Melrose in LA. This place is always crowded but believe me it is worth the wait. While we wait we can do a little shopping on Melrose but don’t walk too far because we have a short time for them to wait for us once our name has been called. Luckily they text you and you can see what number you are on the waiting list. I will likely have the Denver omelet and mimosas. Their orange juice is so good! Since were in the area we all know Hollywood is a must for those visiting. So next stop is Hollywood and Highland. We’ll check out the shops and most importantly all of the interesting people and characters there. I do love games so we have to play a few games at Dave and Busters. For a little fun night life lets go to West Hollywood and we can bar hop but will probably end up at the Abbey and Rocco’s Weho. Day 2 we have to drive out a little bit but it is worth it. We are going to Glen Ivy Spa in Corona, CA. This is an all day thing. So we want to try to get there by 10:00 am. we check in, get our locker and find a nice hot spot outside to sun bathe and relax. They have a pool with bean bags and floats and we have to order a pina colada or a lava flow drink by the pool. We will probably try their club mud section where we get to put California red clay with mineral water on and sit out in the sun for it to dry. After you wash it off your skin is super soft! For lunch they have their Ivy Kitchen which is great! I might get their margarita flatbread, nachos or tacos either one you can’t go wrong. We probably will have a massage or experience their grotto treatment. After we leave Glen Ivy lets go to Wood Ranch in Corona, CA for dinner. I will probably get their Tri-tip dinner with mash potatoes, baked beans and their house salad. Their bread and house salad is yummmmmmmmm!!! Day 2 is over because after you go to spa you are just so relaxed and really do not feel like doing anything else. Day 3 Lets have a beach day! We’re going to bike ride from Venice Beach to Santa Monica Beach. Don’t worry its only a 3 mile ride so even if were not that fit we can make it! We can explore some of the shops and go to Santa Monica pier. We may want to stop off at the Sidewalk Cafe for some lunch, Win-Dow which has some good burgers or Teddy’s Red Tacos just depends on what you have an appetite for! They have a good funnel cake at the pier. Now that we got some exercise in lets go to Philips BBQ on Crenshaw in LA for dinner. There is not a lot of places to eat there so we will probably want to get it to go. Day4 Lets have breakfast at Toast Bakery Cafe. They have delicious pancakes and they even have a menu for doggies, so we can have brunch with our fur babies. Next stop is hopefully we have pre reserved tickets for the Broad. They usually have an innovative collection of contemporary art and exhibits that are amazing to see! Our last stop of the day is Eighty Two which is an arcade and bar. They have music, great drinks and most importantly arcade games! You get to play all your old school games like Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat, X-Men and Mario Brothers just to name a few.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest support system has been my Mom, Aunt Shelley and my Grandma. I call them my pyramid because they were and still are my strong support system. Fun fact The triangle is the strongest shape, and luckily that is what I had growing up.
