We had the good fortune of connecting with Patricia Teixeira and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patricia, what do you attribute your success to?
Passion. Dedication. Nurturing relationships in a genuine and collaborative way. When we have passion, work is fun. If we put dedication and care behind each project/strategy, the success will come naturally.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ytinga is a creative & marketing agency with specializations in media & entertainment, healthcare & wellness, legal & other professional services, retail & consumer goods, with excellence in providing high quality services. It creates customized marketing/creative strategies and solutions that directly assist a brand or a professional in reaching their business and communication goals.
What sets us apart from others is our values and beliefs. Ytinga was created from a desire to combine experiences, strength and collaborations aiming at self-improvement, and self-growth while assisting and inspiring others.
We have a great focus and are specialists in the Latin industry. We work with U.S. companies and brands that need help translating the brand message into the Latin culture to expand to foreign markets. And vice-versa.
We are proud to get involved in great causes that improve the lives of others. Like the one we recently supported for Present Now (presentnow.org) a non-profit organization that assists children in shelters that are victims of domestic violence. We also offer a great discount to the local business communities. Especially those who were hardly affected by COVID-19.
As the business grows, one of our goals is to incorporate corporate social responsibility programs in our business model.
We all experience challenging times. 2020 has been one of those challenging years, not to say the least. Ytinga was created from a desire to combine experiences, strength and collaborations aiming at self-improvement, and self-growth while assisting and inspiring others. In October, 2020, in the midst of the pandemic I launched an agency with a friend Raquel Leal, who is also Brazilian, a creative professional and a mother. Together we bring over 15 years of industry experience. Among the companies we have worked for were large operations such as: The Walt Disney Company (ESPN, Jimmy Kimmel Live, X-Games, Freeform), Viacom’s AwsomenessTV, The Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles, Knoll Inc, Fox Studios, Playboy Enterprises, Tiger Army Productions and more.
We overcame this challenge by standing there for each other. Motivating one another to keep on moving forward.
I want the world to know that I am a single mother, that I came from a very humble community in Brazil. That I am an immigrant woman, who came to this country with only $60 dollars in my pocket, but with a mind full of dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I have friends visiting, I take them to some of my favorite spots and take them to do things that I enjoy doing in my regular life. Starting with tourist spots, I will take a Hollywood trip and visit the walk of fame, a little hike below Hollywood Sign, located near Lake Hollywood Park. I used to live in that area, so that was always my go to spot. Runyon Canyon is always fun to visit and also the Griffin Park. I also love taking people for a nice drive through the canyons to Beverly Hills before Sunset to see the mansions. It’s just gorgeous. While in Studio City, I highly recommend having brunch at a local family owned restaurant called’ Good Neighbor”. This was my go to place for breakfast when I lived in that area.
For dinner, my favorite italian restaurant in WeHo is “Cecooni’s”. They have the best nhoque in town in my opinion.
For the westside, where I live now, I love Culver City downtown. There are so many great restaurants to choose from. I love brunches, so I love going to “Cafe Vida”. Great food. The Culver Hotel restaurant is also one of my favorite places. Amazing food with a very cozy vibe and they have live jazz music always going on. Unfortunately, they have been closed during the pandemic. I really hope they get to open soon. Another cute local restaurant I highly recommend is “Cafe Brazil”, for those craving some taste of Brazil.
Another fun thing to do in the Westside is go to Santa Monica pier and promenade, rent a bike and bike all the way to Venice Pier and have lunch in one of those restaurants. My favorite is the Thai Restaurant “Siamese Garden, by the Canal.
It’s also worth going for a hike at Will Rogers Park. Amazing views of the coast and Santa Monica mountains.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A Shoutout to my mentor Bill Ehrlich from the SCORE mentorship program. He is amazing and has been helping our business so much with the best guidance. Really, anyone starting a business I highly recommend working with SCORE mentors.
A ShoutOut to our amazing clients, who trust our work. Especially NOVICA.com. They are one of our longest time clients and keep coming back to us for more. They support our story and our values.
Last but not least, my amazing business partner, “Raquel Leal”, without her support, and encouragement, I don’t know if I would be able to keep going. Being an entrepreneur IS not easy.
