We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Santa Ana and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrick, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
That if all my peers succeed we all succeed. There is enough jobs, clients, money and opportunities everywhere!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a self taught makeup artist and hair stylist that cares about each and every canvas I work on. I make sure that each person I touch leaves my chair feeling like the most beautiful version of their beautiful selves. I also leave each person an after care kit including skin and hair care to cleanse and nourish off the days makeup and hair product build up.

I got to where I’m at today with honesty, drive, ambition, an open mind ready to learn and open to work with all areas of the beauty industry.

I said YES to every opportunity, paid or not! I wanted to learn and be in the world that makes beautiful pictures and beautiful images for us to binge watch lol, shop at, or see in the big screens. Yes to everything. No job is too big or too small.

Lessons I have learned are many but one lesson I will never forget is to be the ears and the eyes on set. Make sure everyone is comfortable hydrated and in great spirits. Always come overly prepared and bring everything and anything… granola bars, straws, tea, razors and tampons are always in my kit hahhaha.

I want the world to know that PATRICK SANTA ANA is my brand! I live and breathe my truth! I am an honest believer in all products/tools I use. The MAKEUP, HAIR, SKIN, and LIFESTYLE I share with you all is who and what I am.

I want to leave a legacy of kindness and compassion for everyone. We as senior artists should help the younger newer artist and pay it forward as someone was there that helped us whether we saw it or not.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First off we would hit up the fashion district in Dtla and find great deals on clothes shoes accessories then head over to the grove to eat at the farmers market then check out local mom and pop shops in every little nook and cranny LA has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
