We had the good fortune of connecting with Paulishia Augillard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paulishia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I have always been an on-the-go girl! I think that my innate drive to accomplish what I set out to do is a foundation set by my parents. It is generational for me and in the process of running my race, there have been many obstacles along the way. I believe whatever a person sets in their mind to achieve whether it is owning a business, having healthy relationships, parenting, marriage, etc, there will be times where you feel overwhelmed with the process and yes may want to give up. Giving up is not an option for me but I have learned and recognize when I need to slow down, ask for support, and take care of myself. I encourage you to keep going on what motivates and inspires you because if you give up on yourself, you will never know what can be accomplished. It is okay to take a break and nourish your mind, body, and spirit, however after you have taken time out for yourself, get back up and keep going!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My name is Paulishia Augillard and I am the CEO and owner of Polly Clinical Services LLC! I am also a best-selling author, talk-show, and podcast host. We provide online mental health and coaching services to those dealing with anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. Polly Clinical Services also has a flagship program called R.E.S.T.O.R.E-an elite program specifically for physicians who are dealing with burnout. What sets me apart from others is that I use my personal story to encourage others who are dealing with depression, anxiety, and burnout. I have also been on the other side of the couch and by sharing my story of triumph, it provides hope and breakthroughs for the clients that I serve! I am most proud of being able to pivot during the pandemic to providing virtual mental health/coaching services to my target audience. This entrepreneurial journey has not been easy and there is still so much to learn but it is not by accident that I am here. I have always wanted to be my own boss while creating a legacy for my family. I started out by having faith and belief in myself to build something that would help to heal others in the area of mental health and wellness. Initially I tried to do much of the work on my own without a real understanding of what it means to operate a business. Once I sought out business specific resources (SURE program, Score, Lakewood Church Business ministry, successful coaches), things began to change for me. The lessons that I have learned in my journey is mindset is everything. There has to be a daily routine of what you allow your mind to focus on and who you allow in your space. Another lesson that I have learned is that it is okay to ask for support, no one achieves success without the help of someone else! I want the world to know that taking care of your mental health is so important. If we are out of alignment (mind, body, spirit), then our mental health suffers. Polly Clinical Services LLC is here to provide the nurturing support in a safe space that will ultimately help transform you from the inside out!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting me for a week, I would have to take her to A Real Thai Massage, the Museum district which has the Museum of Natural Science and Fine Arts, Houston Museum of African American Culture Space Center, Discovery Green, Houston Botanic Garden, Gite Gallery, and Critical Mass Houston for night bike rides.

Some of my favorite places to eat and listen to music are Kulture Houston, Lucille’s, Turkey Leg Hut, Olive and Twist Bar and Kitchen, Grand Lux, Churrascos, and Pappadeux Seafood Kitchen. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am in my journey without the support of my husband, John Augillard III, children (Jovahn, Jael, & Alexia), siblings (Paul D. Green, & Alex Green),my parents (Paul & Anita Green), the SURE Program (Dr. Saleha Khumawala & Charlie Becker) and my coaches/mentors Jai Darden (New Day Success Strategies LLC), Erica Jefferson(AmplifyHer),& Aprille Franks (Align, Build, & Monetize).
