We had the good fortune of connecting with Profound La Gonzalo Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Profound LA, what inspires you?
My inspiration is my second chance at life. I am a stage 4 cancer survivor, I had hodgkins lymphoma. I was diagnosed at the age 22. Having a second chance at life I decided to tell my story and express all my feelings through my music. Music is my therapy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my music is based on my own life experiences and things that I’ve encountered and discovered throughout my own life.
I am mostly proud of my collaborations with major artists including my biggest inspiration Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Being able to open up for major artist I’ve always looked up to thanks to suckapunch productions.
Earning my stripes through battling, freestyling and making genuine connections with anyone who’s willing to listen and networking every chance possible.
It’s definitely not an easy scene to be in people don’t like to see you do better than them. I simply remain myself respectful and always willing to help no matter what the situation is. Always willing to help people make connections to exceed in their craft. Sometimes it works sometimes I get taken advantage of but in the end I know I’m doing right and I’m okay with that.
Anything is possible no matter the circumstance. Only you can create your own story no one else. I am the author of my life and I plan to make it legendary.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite places to eat would be Little Szechwan, fat boys tacos or kbbq. Then maybe head to one of the local breweries Bravery Brewery or Transplants brewing. If we’re in the mood to go have a good time dancing we can always go to The King bar. Check out some open mics, comedy or maybe I’ll have a show lol.
