We had the good fortune of connecting with Quyknokey Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quyknokey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business – was to start a business to where I could leave behind for my daughter creating generational wealth. I noticed that others loved/admired the way I’d dress my daughter; asking where did I get her outfits. I had already been thinking of an idea of the kind of business to start for my daughter, so I decided to start selling children’s clothes. Especially once I saw all the children’s stores closing down and going out of business due to the covid outbreak. Right then I knew it would be a perfect time for me to pursue a children’s clothing line. Also, I wanted to be able to provide fashionable clothing for children at an affordable price. In taking this step toward establishing generational wealth for my daughter; as well as a staple in our community, starting a children’s clothing line could be something that my daughter and I could enjoy together while building an empire which could lead to other outlets making our positive mark on the world. Once I start our first store I want to soon branch off and open other stores around the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I currently work two jobs and a full-time mom all while running a business and yes it gets very tough at times but I just try to manage my time accordingly, try to make some me time here and there and get the job done. I know in the end it will all pay off once I’m at my goal. There are days I want to give up but I keep going for my daughter and knowing it’s going to all work out.
