We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Tamposi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
When I sit down and really think about what the most important principle matters most to me, I first think about honesty, virtue and hard work. However, I think that those all can be folded into something else that might be even more significant: Fun. If I’m not being honest, I’m not having fun. If I’m not being true to myself or working hard, then I’m not having fun. If I can find a way to create fun moments in every day tasks, my work is going to shine even brighter. It’s so easy to get hung up on the trivial nonsense of day to day life. We only have one – make it fun and the rest will follow.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey wasn’t a simple one. I set out to become a director but while working towards that goal, others started to pop up. I went from working on some big Hollywood TV series, to producing and starring in my own content that was getting noticed. I host a few podcasts but the project I’m most proud of, is the BroadCast podcast I get to host with my best friend, Emma Samocki. There are no limits to the stuff we create together and the listeners love our shenanigans. It truly gives me so much joy.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in the city of Los Angeles is hands down El Compadre. I could eat Mexican food for every meal and the flaming margs are so fun. I love to get out and hike near the ocean which is a must see to out of town guests. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entire career and life is built on relationships. Without the help of people along the way supporting me near and far, I wouldn’t be where I am today. The constant in my life is my girlfriend, Katie. She is always pushing me to go a little further, work a little harder and laugh a little longer. There are so many people that have helped me get to where I am today, but when I feel like giving up – Katie won’t let me. She pushes me to be the best version of myself every day.
