We had the good fortune of connecting with Rach & Matt O’Leary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rach & Matt, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
We believe that there has never been a more important time to proritise your health. People are becoming more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and that keeping fit and healthy stretches much further than a nice six pack and the aesthetic appeal. We emphasize to our clients that it’s about finding a balance between what’s going on inside and how we want to look outside, with the main goal of maintaining a healthy mind, body and soul.

People are often looking for that quick fix, a 4 week shred – or whatever the latest fad happens to be. We want our clients to go away feeling confident, energized, educated and most importantly happy.
We aim to create a habit that they can take with them for the rest of their lives, not just for the summer vacation.

We also believe that fitness should be for everyone. Some people prefer to go to group classes, some prefer to work out at a gym and others want to work from home with a Personal Trainer. Many people don’t have the resources for any of these, which is why we are also starting our own YouTube channel where people all around the world and from all walks of life can have access to professionally curated workouts. Our dream is to reach as many people as possible and as a multi lingual couple, we have the ability to reach a global audience, helping them find their happiest selves.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We originally trained and worked as Personal Trainers in London before making our way over to LA. We are fortunate enough to have had success in both countries and we put this down to a few things:

1. Working on self improvement daily
2. Listening and learning from people we admire
3. Recognizing when we’re wrong and learning from the experience
4. Treating our clients like family

It hasn’t all come easy, moving countries and leaving family behind comes with its challenges. But with the constant love and support from across the pond – and good old FaceTime – they’ve never felt too far away.

We are both extremely passionate about language and culture. Between us we can speak six languages (English, Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Japanese and Welsh) and we want to utilize this to help us become a global brand. We are super excited about our new YouTube channel and the idea of us being able to reach and educate a global audience!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my gosh, planning itinerary’s for friends and family is our favorite thing to do!

Being Pasadena locals, Sage is our absolute favorite restaurant, the food is awesome and the staff are super friendly!
We are total coffee nuts, so its gotta be Coffee.jpg in Sierra Madre and Copa Vida in Pasadena.
For a cheeky gin cocktail (or any drink you like as their bar is extensive) Granville’s rooftop is absolutely STUNNING!
You can’t visit Pasadena and not visit the incredible Huntington Gardens – just breathtaking!

Further afield – We love to visit The Old Place in Cornell on our way to the beautiful Malibu Pier where you can eat, drink and watch the sunset.

Having watched ‘LaLa Land’ just before we moved to LA we couldn’t wait to see the Griffith Observatory and boy it really is an absolute spectacle. We always take people and they love it just as much as we do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our Taekwondo Master – Master Ali O. Saraei.

We both achieved our Black Belts in Taekwondo under Master Ali’s mentorship and this man embodies EVERYTHING we believe to be most important in life.
His classes are full of people from all over the world, different backgrounds and different stories to tell. He treated every single person with nothing but love, respect, patience and kindness and to be a member of his club was an absolute honor.
We learned so much from him and will forever be grateful for his guidance.
