We had the good fortune of connecting with Raegan Pace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raegan, what do you want your legacy to be?
I was born a performer. It’s in my veins. Therefore, I’m naturally a very glamorous person.
I love the sparkle, the rhinestones, the makeup. The razzle dazzle of it all is me & I am simply that, but when you look past the teased hair, the 10 inch eyelashes, the furs, the rhinestones & you see the little girl who still lives inside of the woman I’ve become, the little girl who is still happier giving than receiving, the little girl who is still taking in all the stray animals, the little girl who still loves to laugh & loves to see others smiling at the shock she gives them followed by their laughter surrounding some of the things she isn’t scared to do or say.
Now as I have grown into the forever young woman that I am, I can say the 1 thing that has never changed about me is my personality. I have always done my own thing, even if it meant I didn’t have many friends, even if people didn’t know what to think of me, & let me tell ya honey they still don’t, but truly I’ve never payed any attention to what other people were thinking of me anyways. I’ve always just had fun & wanted to make people happy doing my own thing.
I would hope one day after I’m dead & gone to be with my Lord & Savior that people could look back on my memory & take comfort in my total fun, loving & caring spirit & the glamorous legacy of simply me always being my true self no matter what.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
You don’t have to believe in Jesus, but I do. I don’t look at someone differently because of their beliefs the worlds a big place you know. The only thing I can say is I am where I’m at today because He lives. Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know who holds my future & life is worth a living just because He lives.
I have been down & out more than people would ever think. I’ve looked at myself & my circumstances at times & felt worthless but I’ve looked to my Savior & felt my total worth thru Him & Him alone.
I have always known I would end up entertaining people. Hell looking back I always have been entertaining people.
I have always been highly in touch with who I am. I am Raegan & I have always known myself. Even whenever others didn’t understand me & picked on me for my size or my personality or for my fashion choices even whenever I didn’t have 2 pennies to rub together I would hold my head high thru the tears & my fears bc I am Raegan the first the last the one & the only me. God makes me brave. I am proud of who I am. I love myself. I know that I am different, I know that I’m eccentric & unique. I think God molded me the way I am so that others can look at me a truly tender hearted yet immensely strong & independent gal and find the bravery inside of themselves to say yeah if Raegan can do it I can too.
I write & compose all of my music & I lock myself upstairs in my room just me & my dogs Kenny Vanderpump he comes from Hollywood & Queenie my precious Queen I love that dog & I’ll write for hours on end. I honestly don’t know how I do it. It just hits me when it’s time to write. If you listen to my music that’s when you’ll know me best. I write extremely honestly to who I am I’m not afraid to share my feelings.
I’ve learned that people need to feel. They need to be comforted. They need to be transported away from reality & given an escape even if it is for 2 or 3 minutes & if my songs can do that for even 1 human then I’ve done my job.
Music is medicine. Music is a universal language. It’s the 1 thing that unites every single last 1 of us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
IN & OUT BURGER!
I come from a small town in Louisiana good old Denham Springs (hey y’all) & baby let me tell you something I’m from Louisiana & this gal likes to EAT! I ain’t never had a burger like an In & Out Burger before! In & Out is magical!!! & them Animal fries make me feel wild!
A double double w/ light onions, banana peppers, animal fries & a Arnold Palmer & about 20 packs of ketchup (ketchup is my favorite food) BABY now that’s a high class meal yasss!!!
If y’all wanna find me I’ll be down at In & Out that’s for sure!
& when I’m done whatever I don’t finish eating I ALWAYS take to the streets & give to the homeless. I don’t believe in anyone being hungry or left out on the street all alone with no one. I don’t care how they may appear on the outside they have a soul that needs nurturing just like the rest of us & if I can do that then John Brown it I’m gonna take my tale to the streets & try my best to make a difference thru my left overs that’s for sure!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well child if I told ya all of the wonderful people who have impacted my life we’d be here all day & a dollar more! Haha, but I will tell ya, the 5 main people who have truly helped shaped me into the woman I am today. My late Aunt & first friend Anita Rae, “Nita Rae” as we all call her. My modeling coach & forever friend Mrs. Lisa. My hair stylist & dearest friend José Eber. My tailor & lucky star, Manuel Cuevas. Lastly my mother need I say more about Lucy!
I was the first girl born on my mothers side in 30 years & Nita Rae who is my mothers oldest sister told my mother that I was the most beautiful baby she had ever seen in her entire life & it was Nita Rae’s idea to put me in pageants. Even at just 6 weeks old the stage was calling me home!
Nita Rae & I share so many similarities but the main one being our love for music. She was so talented she amazed me. She was so brave she would sing or play anywhere any time for anyone! She was even recognized by the Grammy organization for her song writing abilities and musical talents. She passed away in 2021, her spirit will live inside of me forever.
Mrs. Lisa who I met at 6 weeks old actually thanks to Nita Rae telling my mother to put me in pageants is such an integral part of my upbringing. She was my modeling coach from my pageant days back home in Louisiana in the 90’s where I competed in the entire southern region & won countless titles until I was about 3 years old. I just remember when I would look at Mrs. Lisa I would get stars in my eyes thinking gosh she is so pretty she doesn’t seem real. Her long dark hair down to her hips, her gorgeous tan skin, her long eye lashes & captivating eyes with a big bright smile that could light up the darkest sky all wrapped up into the sweetest kindest most glamorous lady. Gosh I wanted to be just like her. Mrs. Lisa & I have always stayed in touch throughout my lifetime & I always will keep her close to my heart.
Now José Eber child if ya don’t know who José is are you living under a rock?! José is a hair stylist for very talented artist, models, actresses etc. I mean José is the best of the best. I met José a few years back when I had gotten some hair extensions that went bad and left me lookin like Bozo the clown & my mama said the only man for the job to fix it would be José! Next thing I knew I was off on a big jet plane to Beverly Hills sitting in José’s salón & he was brushing out my knots. When I met José he made me feel so beautiful like no one else ever had before. He gave me the spark that I was missing to leave it all behind & share my talents with the world. We have developed such a genuine friendship that I will cherish for all the days of my life. My song The Los Angeles Cowboy & The Louisiana Queen is about José & me & our friendship while honoring his friendship with his dearest friend Elizabeth Taylor. José & I are bonded for eternity. I love him very dearly.
Now Manuel Cuevas aka my lucky star is a tailor to the stars! He has made clothes for talented Country Singers & Rock Stars & movie stars. Such as Elvis Presley, Loretta Lynn, Archie Bunker etc. Trust me EVERYONE who’s anyone knows Manuel. He was in Hollywood for many years with Nudie Cohn but he’s been in Nashville for over 20 years now & no matter where he’s at you can find Manuel at the sewing machine that’s for sure! Manuel is unlike any friend I’ve ever had. Sometimes I think Manuel knows me better than I know myself. He calls me his Country Rose. He says when he sees me he sees me as a rose & oh I love that! & I call him my Lucky Star! Manuel believes in me he ignites the passion within my soul & makes me feel so beautiful in a celebrated way for simply being a woman! Manuel is one of the most genuine & caring people I’ve ever met & he tells it to me straight & like all of my most influential people he would never steer me wrong!
What more can I say about my mother other than I love her endlessly & being an only child we have a bond that is unbreakable. I always say even if God didn’t make Lucy my mother we would have ended up finding our way to each other.
The 1 thing that all 5 of these people have done for me in different ways to fill up my spirit & make me who I am is undeniably care for me like no one else on earth ever has or ever will. I love you all endlessly.
