Meet Raghav Reddy | Production Designer & Art Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raghav Reddy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raghav, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I firmly believe that in life, taking risks is the key to unlocking extraordinary opportunities. It has been the very essence of my journey, propelling me to the position I hold today. Reflecting on my past, I recall a pivotal moment when I made the audacious decision to leave a lucrative job in India and return to the enchanting realm of Hollywood. In that defining moment, I realized that my pursuit was not driven by the allure of wealth, but by an unwavering desire for self-fulfillment and satisfaction. Rather than succumbing to the fear of potential regrets, I chose to leap forward, fully embracing the unknown. I used to show up to random networking events alone, cold calling and emailing so many industry professionals who trusted my skills and knowledge. Today, as I reflect upon my journey, I am filled with a sense of awe and gratitude. It is through embracing risks, unfettered by doubt and overthinking, that I have come to cherish the incredible growth and transformation that lie on the other side. And I encourage others to embark on their own voyage of discovery, to break free from the shackles of hesitation, and to seize the boundless opportunities that await those who dare to take risks.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I usually work as Production Designer and Art Director for films, TV shows, music videos, and commercials. I don’t know how I can differentiate myself from other amazingly talented people but I just love exploring new styles, curating visuals and bringing them to life, and working on everything as it is my last project which influences me to work harder. Networking and being humble and respectful take you a long way. I love helping people if possible because I always say when people ask me why I want to help a stranger, it’s not them, it is the potential they have because someone took a chance on me when I had nothing and I want to do the same for new and rising talents. It was definitely not easy and took some time because I believe a strong foundation is very important for a strong structure. I definitely learned the chapter on patience in the States especially in India it’s a different ball game. I also learned it’s very important to be a good listener and try to be an absorber in any situation.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I want to do always a road trip to various places like Death Valley, Joshua Tree, and Mount Baldy, and the list is so long. I would definitely take them on a visit to the Bel Air area because I believe in the law of attraction what we see and manifest, somehow nature ends up landing us there. Houses and architecture are a big influence and motivation for anyone. I would also like to show them the Malibu beaches which are so beautiful and last but not least some studio tours like WB, Paramount, Universal, and Disneyland. I and my friend have curated a list of Top Food places in LA and California. I would definitely take them to Culina Ristorante, The Draycott, and some local food stalls.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to start by expressing my gratitude to my parents for sacrificing every comfort they could have in order to provide for my sister and me in the future. I want to mention special gratitude to my grandparents, Uncles, and Aunts who always supported my talent and believed in me, and nurture me as the man I am today, they made it possible for me to pursue a career in a field I’ve always been interested in. Second, I’d like to express my gratitude to a select group of individuals, including Erin Wile, Peter Bunstein, Matt Pilon, Eric Brown, Dominic Lucero, Audrey Sica, Rob Meckler, Jake Tremblay, Seth Wilder, etc., who gave me a head start in the industry when I had none. Last but not least, I want to thank a few of my friends, some of whom deserve special mention, including Josee Bekker, Kirsten Nygaard, Ajay Mohamed, and Randeep Nagi, for supporting me despite all of my struggles.
