Meet Rebecca Prephan | Owner of SATARA Mystical Wellness

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Prephan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Thank you so much for having me. Starting my own business wasn’t just a decision but a calling. After experiencing a deeply personal health journey that led to a dark night of the soul, I knew I couldn’t go back to life as it was before. I had always been drawn to psychology and spirituality, but my own healing became the catalyst for creating SATARA Mystical Wellness.
I wanted to build a space where women could reconnect with themselves, where intuition was honored, and where healing was not just physical but deeply spiritual. I thought about all the women who, like me, had faced moments of doubt, feeling disconnected from their inner power. I envisioned a sanctuary where they could gather, support each other, and step into their fullest potential.
SATARA Mystical Wellness manifested from this vision—a space for self-discovery, transformation, and sisterhood. For me, it’s a sacred offering to every woman who is ready to come home to herself, embrace her magic, and step boldly into the life she was meant to live.

What should our readers know about your business?
At its core, SATARA Mystical Wellness is a sacred healing space. What I hear time and time again from people who walk through our doors is that they felt called to stop in—almost like something greater was guiding them here. And honestly, that doesn’t surprise me. SATARA exists at the divine intersection of reality and “a calling.” It’s not just a business; it’s a space where people come to heal, awaken, and remember who they truly are.
Being a brick-and-mortar space, SATARA has grown almost entirely by word of mouth. We’ve been in business just shy of two years now, and while it hasn’t been easy, the way everything continues to unfold reaffirms that this was meant to be. I always envisioned a space where people could gather, where healing wasn’t just something you do alone but something we experience together. My dad taught me at a young age that whatever you focus on with unwavering intent will eventually manifest—and SATARA is the living embodiment of that truth.
Of course, running a business—especially as a sole proprietor—comes with its challenges. The slower months, the unpredictability, and the weight of doing it all can sometimes feel like disadvantages. But that’s just an illusion, one that so many women, including myself, are learning to reframe. More and more women are stepping into what their souls are truly calling them toward, and in doing so, we’re rewriting the narrative of what’s possible.
I am continually overwhelmed and moved by the incredible support from our community. SATARA isn’t just a wellness space—it’s a sisterhood. The women here show up for one another in the most powerful ways. It’s like always having a best friend looking out for you, except at SATARA, you have many. There’s a deep sense of connection and belonging, which makes this place so special.
And then there’s the energy—SATARA holds a strong, sacred feminine presence that invites deep healing. But it also honors the balance we all carry within us—both masculine and feminine.
The men drawn here are grounded, open-hearted, and courageous. They aren’t intimidated by the energy—they respect it. They come not to fix themselves but to grow, connect more deeply, and lead from a place of inner strength and awareness.
True power comes from balance. When both men and women embrace that balance within themselves, it’s inspiring. It shows what’s possible when we lead with purpose and presence.
At the end of the day, SATARA is so much more than a business. It’s a sacred space rooted in intention—a home for those answering something deeper within themselves.
To me, it’s about what unfolds when we give ourselves permission to follow the soul’s whisper. That’s where the real transformation happens. It’s not just about walking into a beautiful space—it’s about what starts to shift inside when you do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a Burbank resident for the last 12 years, I’ve come to love the small businesses that are truly the breath and heartbeat of this city. When friends or family visit, I want to show them the places that make Burbank feel like home—the little nuggets you might not find unless someone lets you in on the secret.
On a weekend morning, we’d grab a coffee and a croissant at Lou, The French on the Block—a true hidden pearl where everything is made with love. Then, of course, a visit to SATARA Mystical Wellness; it’s always fun when my friends can experience the magic of SATARA for themselves. Then, we’d head to Griffith Observatory to soak in the views and feel that classic LA energy.
On Sunday, we’d stop by Don Cocos on Riverside Dr., where you might find yourself chatting with Tom and Tom—two absolute diamonds of locals that everyone seems to know and love. Their stories and banter are just as much a part of the experience as the yummy food and margaritas.
For a slower, more grounding day, we’d visit the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine—a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the city. Lunch at Olive & Thyme, where the food is always nourishing and made with intention. In the evening, a walk through Brand Park at sunset would be the perfect way to reflect and just be.
Burbank may be right next to LA, but it has its own heart and soul. The best way to experience it? Support the small businesses, wander without a plan, and let the city reveal its magic.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I could not have built SATARA Mystical Wellness alone. The incredible women who have surrounded, supported, and inspired me have shaped my journey, healing, and success.
First and foremost, my deepest gratitude goes to the women of SATARA—the members, the sisterhood, and the soul connections that have formed within this space. Every woman who has walked through our doors, shared her story, embraced her healing, or held space for another has impacted me in ways I could never fully put into words. Their strength, vulnerability, and courage continue to remind me why I created SATARA in the first place.
Beyond SATARA, I honor the mentors, spiritual guides, and healers who have poured their wisdom into me, as well as the books and teachings that have shaped my understanding of intuition, energy, and the divine feminine. Two books that have profoundly influenced my journey are Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Sacred Contracts helped me understand the deeper purpose behind life’s challenges, while The Power of Now was a guiding light in learning to be present and trust the unfolding of each moment.
So, this shoutout is for every woman who has ever doubted herself yet kept going, only to discover your true magic. You are the heartbeat of this work, and I am endlessly grateful.
