We had the good fortune of connecting with Renan Santiago and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Brazil, born in the city of São Paulo. Throughout my life I have always been very interested in art. My family has always encouraged me to try different types of art since I was a child. Music, theater and cinema have always been part of my life. When I was 12 years old I started studying theater, and soon after that I had a band with friends at school. As soon as I graduated from high school I went to study to get a degree in cinema and theater, it was a great 4 years in my life, where I had the opportunity to meet a lot of intelligent people and start working with it. I acted in some plays, 1 film, 1 series and some TV advertisements. Some time after I graduated, I was part of the cast of a television game show, and at that moment my story began to change.
I never thought about working with media and content production, I had the opportunity to produce and be the director of this TV show, I participated in pre-production and post-production. This was a big challenge for me, but my persistence made me move forward, learn and want to evolve even more.
That’s when I made the decision to come and study in Los Angeles in 2018, and in 2021 I founded my production company ARTSOUL, in which I have dedicated all my time and all my love to achieving big and cool goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nothing in life is easy, be dedicated, persistent and fearless. The first opportunities I had, I needed to have courage and do my best. ARTSOUL PRODUCTIONS was born after a lot of work and learning. We believe in the authenticity of our projects. The expansion of feeling, which comes from the soul, is our vision put out through art.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I thank God and my family for helping me evolve and create my opportunities. If you are thinking about working in this area, you need know that the more you study, the more prepared you will be for the opportunities that come your way. Be authentic and original with your ideas and projects. The sky is the limit.
