We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhea Morales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rhea, why did you pursue a creative career?
I would have to say from an early age pursuing an acting career was just no question in my mind. However when it came to actually making the leap, I did have a slower process on letting it all come together. I really took my time with it, make sure I had a carefully laid out plan and keeping my anxiety at bay. As much of a cliche as it truly is, choosing to be an actor as my career path was what’s been driving me this whole time I’ve been in Los Angeles, and keep believing in my hard work and dedication to this career that I want to have. They say love is an action, and I love acting too much not pursue it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Ooh, I think from an acting standing point what sets me apart from others is the willingness to fail time and time again. Not meaning failure as in giving up, but realizing what works for me and what does not. When I first started taking acting classes in LA there were so many studios I went to and paid for with the little amount of money I had thinking “This one’s the one for me” and it simply wasn’t and that is 100% O.K. I don’t regret them, I’m proud of myself for trying, giving some a shot and then having the courage to move on and find what truly resonates for me. I learned lessons along the way I could not have learned unless I made those decisions, so in retrospect I’m a firm believer in don’t knock it until you try it. I’m so excited for what the future holds for me now that I have this inner strength of not being afraid to “fail”.

If I could share one thing with the world of where I’ve come from up until this point, is that you’re only limited if you let yourself be limited to what you want to pursue. It won’t be an easy route or path all the time, but my God is the journey worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a good friend of mine was visiting me, I would have to take them to Big Sur. We would load up my car with camping gear, get a nice morning coffee at 6 a.m. and enjoy the drive. Maybe drive through the PCH and take in those glorious, breathtaking views. We would find a diner somewhere and get chocolate shakes and fries and hangout by the coast. Maybe roast marshmallows over and open campfire. Go sightseeing in Big Sur and definitely shoot some photography of nature and some fun portraits!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my therapist from back home in WA state, Ken! Without his support over the year and a half we spent working together to help me heal, help me see my own potential, encourage me to move to LA, I would not be where I am today and would not have met the other beautiful souls along the way.
