We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert / Brandt Desanti / Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert / Brandt, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We wanted to share our love of the water, wine, sunshine, and positivity with as many people as possible! We want to build a community around this love. Marina del Rey is a hidden gem in Los Angeles; offering a getaway for locals and tourists alike. It offers spectacular sights of marine life, house boats, mega yachts, and the best sunsets on the coast.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our business is all about community, positivity, and creating moments you’ll never forget. We started “You and Me” because we love bringing people together. With room for just ten guests, our boat feels less like a party charter and more like a cozy gathering—just you and me, enjoying the water.

We want every ride to be special, so we serve locally sourced charcuterie and wine, handpicked for each trip. People tell us we have one of the most beautiful boats in the marina, and we work hard to live up to that! For us, it’s not just about running a business—it’s about making your day a little brighter and giving you an experience you’ll always remember.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’d love to give a shoutout to our family and friends; those of which have supported us unconditionally in this journey. It’s very much been a group effort in getting this business off the ground to where it is now. Without these people, we would be nowhere.
