Meet Robert Rene | Pop Singer/Dancer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Rene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Dancing has always been my passion, and music has always been the driving force behind my creativity. As my dancing career progressed, I began to feel constrained, unable to fully express myself as an artist and be myself. The demand of having a specific look, style, ability and demeanor was something that I respect about the industry, but I felt I didn’t possess those qualities. I found myself trying to force myself to fit a brand that wasn’t mine, and in doing so, it was causing my love for dance and music to feel like a burden.
In response, I made the bold decision to carve out my own path, one that would reignite my passion for music and dance. This path led me to create my own music career under the name Robert Rene. By taking control of my music career, I could create music that resonated with my soul, allowing me to dance, sing, and dress authentically.
Embarking on this journey has been a challenge and continues to push me out of my comfort zone, but the rewards have been immeasurable. Investing in myself and my artistry has been the most fulfilling decision I’ve ever made. As the saying goes, “The best investment you can make is an investment in yourself.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
This entire process has allowed me to become reborn! Sitting here, I can tell you that I feel the most confident, sexy and motivated as I’ve ever felt in my entire life, and I can’t wait to share that with the world. Taking on this role in my 40’s has come with it’s set of challenges, especially when it comes to self-sabotage and overthinking. I hope that when people encounter me on stage, get to know me, hear my music for the first and see my music videos, they will be motivated and inspired to say “If he can do it, I can do it.” I’m beyond proud of myself and how far I’ve come. The rigor of this role is intense and challenging, but I’ve loved every second of it.
I come from a time when gaining recognition and respect in your craft required blood, sweat and tears; it didn’t come handed to you or from a viral video, you had to earn it. You go full out or you go home, and that’s how I pursue my music career. I think this type of mindset is what sets me apart from other artist, I’m willing to put in the work and go above and beyond to make a good product and to make it right. In this day and age, my approach might be considered old fashioned, or the long way, but nothing great ever came fast and anything that comes fast never lasts. I remind myself every day that what I’m doing a marathon and not a sprint. I also know my strengths and weaknesses, so I remain humble and never compare myself to other artists. I only try to be the best version of Robert Rene I could be, trying to be anyone else would be impossible and the exact opposite of my career goal.
As a kid, I was bullied from elementary school to sophomore year of high school. I was thrown into trash cans and pee’d on in the boys bathroom, called horrible names, and I even had a girl ( I still know her first and last name to this day) call me the “Ugliest boy in the school.” These are the things that have fueled me over the years and I like to think that everyone peaked too soon. Where I am at this moment, is me reaching my peak and I can’t wait to share that with the world. I also want to let the world know that if you’re stuck and don’t feel like you’re where you need to be, you probably just haven’t reached your peak yet, so keep climbing!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As someone who is young at heart, I thoroughly enjoy visiting Universal Studios and CityWalk to indulge in delicious food, take leisurely strolls, and take in the nostalgia. For a more lively evening, West Hollywood is our go-to destination for dancing and enjoying quality drinks. Skybar on Sunset is another favorite spot of mine, offering a relaxed and trendy atmosphere.
One of the most thrilling aspects of Los Angeles is the abundance of activities and places to discover. Hosting guests in this vibrant city is an opportunity to showcase its hidden gems and popular hotspots, while also venturing into uncharted territory. Let’s embark on this journey together and see where the city leads us! That would be the theme while they were here!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends have played a crucial role in shaping my life and career. They have been my unwavering support system, cheering me on through every career transition and milestone. Their love and encouragement have given me the confidence to chase my dreams. The desire for success is fueled by my aspiration to provide for and support my family and loved ones.
