We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert & Tiffany Santana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert & Tiffany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Truth be told, I don’t like working for people. Majority of the time, they let their title get to their head & treat people different. I’ve always wanted to have my own business & initially it was going to be something else until I tried açaí while working in Irvine. I was hooked! I started jotting things down in my notebook but the plans didn’t set sail til I met my wife.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We understand that there’s a lot of açaí places popping up but what you’re getting with us, is the Rawbert’s experience. We love to have fun and joke around – if you’ve seen us at events, you know we’re always dancing and laughing. I’d like to say our bowls are pretty amazing & that just seals the deal. It took us months to finalize and prep for our first ever event in august 2020, I couldn’t even sleep the night prior! It’s been hard because sometimes events don’t go too well but every experience is a learning experience, good or bad.
We just want people to know that being healthy starts with what you eat/drink. Our bowls provide that sweetness without the guilty kick afterwards. Always smile & say açaí!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Who doesn’t want to visit Southern California? We’ve got the weather, the food, the people & the traffic! All jokes aside, southern California is a melting pot of people from all over and there’s so much to do, see & eat.
We always recommend Fat Sals whenever people from out of state visit. It’s insane! Slurpin’ Ramen, Sup Noodle & Din Tai Fung are also on that foodie list. You cannot miss out on a trip to Disneyland/DCA, it’s honestly a must!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In all honesty, I’d like to shoutout my wife. Without her, I’m not too sure how far Rawbert’s would have gotten. She’s constantly networking and always getting things done. I’d also like to shoutout all our fellow vendors who turned into friends. They’re constantly posting us, sending us events, referring us, helping us put Rawbert’s on the map!
