Meet Roger Gonzalez | Owner of Good Times Farmers Market

We had the good fortune of connecting with Roger Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roger, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Good Times Farmers Market is more than just a place to shop—it’s a community gathering spot where neighbors come together to celebrate local vendors, enjoy fresh products, and build lasting relationships. We believe in the power of supporting small businesses and fostering an environment where entrepreneurs and families alike can thrive. Every week, we aim to create an atmosphere of fun, connection, and support, so that everyone—vendors and visitors—can achieve their goals and make good times a regular part of their lives.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been with Cazcanes, a tequila company, for three years now, and it’s been an incredible journey. As a manager, I’ve had the opportunity to see the inner workings of the business, from production to customer relations. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is that with persistence and determination, anything is possible. Challenges will always come up, but staying focused, adapting, and pushing forward is the key to growth and success. This mindset has not only shaped my approach to work but also how I approach other areas of life, including the journey of building Good Times Farmers Market.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d start by taking them to Cara Cara in Downtown LA. The restaurant has stunning views of the city—perfect for soaking in the skyline while enjoying some amazing food. After that, we’d head over to grab some mouth-watering Korean BBQ to fuel up for the evening. The flavors and experience are always a hit! The next day, I’d take them on some scenic hiking trails, whether it’s up in the Hollywood Hills for iconic views or along the coast for a more tranquil vibe. Finally, we’d drive out to Santa Barbara to unwind at the beach—gorgeous views, perfect waves, and a great way to end the trip on a relaxing note!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am deeply grateful to everyone who has shared their advice, encouragement, and wisdom throughout the journey of creating Good Times Farmers Market. While we’ve had many share their advice, one person stands out above all—my dad, Roger. His unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in transforming this dream from an idea into a thriving reality. Through his persistence, encouragement, and leadership, we’ve built this market into a vibrant community gathering that gets better every week. His dedication continues to steer us in the right direction, making Good Times Farmers Market the go-to destination for customers and vendors alike, every Sunday. Thank you, Dad, for everything you’ve done and continue to do.
