We had the good fortune of connecting with Romeo Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Romeo, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
It sounds cliché, but consistency is key. Constantly pushing and moving forward with your goals is what makes things happen. I don’t let up, I keep going until i make my dream a reality.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
First and foremost, I am an artist. I have done a lot of things in the creative world, from acting to modeling to styling. But it all leads back into singing and songwriting. I listen to a wide range of music which all has an effect on my personal sound. In an industry where “right time, right place” has a lot to do with success, I believe I set myself apart from my drive and work ethic. I’ve learned that things do happen for a reason, but you are the one that makes opportunities happen. You can’t wait for them to fall in your lap. My overall brand shines through my music and imagery I choose to showcase.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am from New York City, and it’s truly the best place to be from and visit. There is so much to do in the city way beyond the tourist things people talk about. It’s all about the places that you’ve built a connection with. For me, Union Square Park, Prince St Pizza and a walk through the Village with no actual plan is the best. Best way to experience New York is just to go. The city will guide you.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As an artist in the music world, I look up to singers who have had an influence on my style and sound. Some of those artists are G-Dragon, Jay Park, The Weeknd and Dean.
