We had the good fortune of connecting with Sofia Pellegrino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sofia, what do you attribute your success to?
The success of my brand definitely falls behind persistence.  Being in the entertainment industry is not easy, perhaps I believe is one of the hardest career paths to take on.  You have to be strong minded in order to be able to surpass the constant rejection this industry brings.  I live by “What’s for me will be for me” and when something doesn’t work out as planned, I accept it and continue to move towards my goal.  Maintaining my faith that things will turn out great at the end is what keeps me motivated and persistent, no matter what the circumstances may be.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I began my acting career in 2014 and I’ve been fortunate enough to have been part of so many wonderful projects local and Nationwide since. In 2017, I decided to take on a new challenge and wrote, directed and acted in my first film called THE LAST CRY, which can be watched on Amazon Prime. Since the release of my film, I’ve been incredibly humbled by the amount of support it’s received as it is being watched almost every day. I’ve received a lot of great feedback and motivation from fellow filmmakers, movie lovers and friends that they are anxiously waiting for part two . Shortly after THE LAST CRY, I was hired to direct a film about domestic violence for a non-profit organization called EL PODER DE SER MUJER (The Power of Being a Woman). This film contains a very powerful story about a domestic violence survivor and has been screened in multiple states. The challenges I have experienced as a filmmaker is definitely building the right team. I’m incredibly passionate about my craft and need to make sure every person in my team feels the same way to reach optimal results. Through trial and error I have been able to build a great team where we all work efficiently and passionately to make sure we deliver motivating and inspiring content.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the calmness and the sound of the ocean and my best friend would also love that as well ….so I would definitely take her to a quiet, small beach or an island.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m forever indebted to God for giving me the strength and wisdom to persist in achieving my goals. Without him, I would definitely not be where I am today. I’m also grateful for my family including my kids, parents and sisters and best friends. We are like a traditional Hispanic family, It’s a lot of us!! We are very close and each other’s cheerleaders. They have supported me in all of my crazy endeavors from day one and for that I’m extremely thankful. Lastly, I’m grateful to have attended the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. Their training was AMAZING and I met so many wonderful people that definitely helped shape where I am today.
