We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosemary Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosemary, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity. As soon as I let go of what I imagined a “business owner” should look like and I started sharing my authentic journey, my community started relating to our mission and growing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my journey as a pre-kindergarten teacher and as I was approaching graduation I felt as if I did not have a passion outside of the classroom. As a life long candle/ scent lover I decided to buy a candle-making kit from my local Michaels and experiment. My first candle looked horrendous. haha but smelled amazing! Now three years later, I have fallen in love with creating meaningful relationships with our community via video, photoshoots and of course amazing all natural scented soy candles. We have sold over 6,000 candles and are partnered with 10 wholesalers and have a combined community of 10k amazing humans. I am grateful for this journey and I am excited to continue evolving.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LOVE THIS QUESTION! I consider myself an amazing HOST!

First things would be to go on a hike/nature walk. I love connecting with nature and it is the perfect way to get centered before a wild day in the city. Brunch is a must! So I would make a reservation at Cielo Farms in Malibu for wine tasting and their tasty menu. Afterwards, a drive down PCH to watch the sunset go down! And If we are feeling super adventurous Dinner at Bacari 3rd st for spicy margaritas!

I am grateful to my boyfriend and life partner Joel (@8nfinit) for motivating me to follow my curiosity. I am thankful for his guidance and for lifting me up on days where everything is foggy!
