We had the good fortune of connecting with Rudy Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rudy, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
beyondGREEN does its part in helping the community by manufacturing sustainable product alternatives to environmentally harmful, traditional petroleum-based plastic products. Though, I must say that it is not the only business in the market which uses biopolymers to manufacture sustainable products, it certainly is the only one which provides consumers with a solution to product end-life. What I mean by this is that not only does beyondGREEN biotech manufacture plant-based products through extrusion blown film and conversion along with injection molding but it also develops and assembles in-house, home-use electric composters. Consumers who have been uncertain on where to dispose compostable products now have the option to easily do so right at home. beyondGREEN’s composters provide an additional benefit, the compost which is created from the units can be used as fertilizer for vegetation. If you are using the pet waste composter, we certainly do not recommend that you use it on edible vegetation just because of the ‘ingredients’ added to the unit. So how is beyondGREEN helping the community? It is aiding in the reduction and prevention of consumption of traditional petroleum-based plastic products which in-turn reduces impact on the environment, assists in addressing social issues and improves the livelihoods of individuals and communities, assists other businesses by providing them sustainable products which improve business reputation through adherence of corporate social responsibility, assists in saving money and reducing material, equipment and running cost by reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills, saves natural resources, creates a market for new sustainable goods and materials to help grow the green economy, and lastly, provides a tool for product end-life to all consumers.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
beyondGREEN biotech may be among other sustainable product manufacturers in the case wherein they all manufacture products which are truly beneficial to the environment, however, beyondGREEN is unique in the sense that it only manufacturers plant-based products. beyondGREEN never has nor does it plan on manufacturing plastic products because doing so would be doing wrong to its mission. Additionally, unlike its competitors, beyondGREEN works on educating consumers on the harms caused by traditional plastic products, how to differentiate a true sustainable product apart from a “greenwashed” product, as well as provide consumers with a safe means of disposing of compostable products.

I would say that I am most proud of what we have done to help many businesses and individuals achieve their sustainability target and the brand name we have created in such little time. We stay true to our mission constantly and work on methods to simplify the manufacturing and end-life processes on the daily.

We have gone through a lot to get to where we are today, and even today there are challenges that come out of nowhere, but we know that we must go through the obstacles today to continue and grow. The hardest part of facing challenges is staying positive, every part of your body wants to tell you that this is it, and many cases it really could be, but your ability to stay positive and strong is the only thing that will help you push through it. No matter how successful you become or how much revenue your business is generating, challenges will never cease to come, in fact, the more you grow the more challenges you may encounter. The only way to ever keep growing is to be indifferent about them, move forward with an “it is what it is” mentality and know deep down that you will figure it out because what is happening or what has happened has happened for a reason. Its a tool for education, no matter how rough it is and you need to stay strong and use it to your advantage. This is what I have been training myself to do. I know challenges will keep on coming and I know that I wont fold or break when they arrive.

The most valuable lesson I have learned from the business world is how valuable a positive mindset is. For anyone thats ever owned a business knows that the best and easiest time of ownership is the initial months when you are in the paperwork phase, after that owning a business is a constant roller coaster and for that you need a positive mindset, without that you will not get far.

beyondGREEN biotech, Inc. is a brand focused on manufacturing and distributing true eco-friendly, sustainable products. In addition, we focus on developing technology to expedite the end-life of the compostable products we manufacture along with certified compostable products manufactured by others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week long trip, I’d say that we would plan to take a ferry to Avalon, Santa Catalina Island and manage to hike our way over to Little Harbor. We would hang out there for 2 to 3 days and experience nature and appreciate what its got to offer and then hike our way to Two Harbors and have some ice cold water and the island refreshments available at the beach restaurant along with a very large burger. This is important, because when we live in an extreme materialistic society we forget to appreciate the small things in life, like how it feels to have a sip of cold water for the first time in days after only drinking warm water, or how nice a burger is after only eating ramen. I enjoy the nature very much so that would be my itinerary. The nature reminds me of who we truly are and that we are not defined by the car we drive or the house we live in.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to say that there are many people I should be giving a shoutout to for assisting in the progress and growth of beyondGREEN biotech. Without their help we certainly would not be where we are today. I would definitely like to give a shoutout to all of our customers and partners. Most importantly though, I would need to give a shout out to my mother, without her constant support and understanding, we (my brother, father and I) would not have been able to get to the level of achievement we have today. Her constant belief in us to push through the challenges no matter what they have been has given us the strength to keep on growing and so we will forever be grateful for that and with that strength we will continue growing.
