We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is to never stop believing in myself. The level of belief I have in my business has kept me going for nearly a year now. I’ve always been one to start and stop different things but this is for me, I feel it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from most people who sell hair is, I feel a lot of people treat it as a hobby or think it’s easy to jump in and begin. This past year I’ve been building a reputable business and building my brand and working on expansion.
It’s not easy at all but I make do, I keep going. I’ll never stop working on taking my business to the next level. I’ve learned that I can’t be scared to put myself out there and take chances. I can’t allow slow days to trick me out my business, I have to go harder.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week long trip? Monday we’d do Disneyland
Tuesday universal studios,
Wednesday we’d do the beach
Thursday brunch at Fratelli Cafe and a little shopping.
Friday we’d do lunch and a concert or sporting event.
Saturday we’d go get manicures and pedicures and go to a bar that night.
Sunday’s are for Fin & Feathers in Marina Del Rey. That’s one of the hottest spots right now.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shout out to my parents and my close friends. They love me unconditionally and the support is always there.
