Meet S8nt Elektric | Rock Band

We had the good fortune of connecting with S8nt Elektric and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s kick things off with what makes you happy? Why?
Obviously, music makes us the happiest! When we’re rehearsing or playing on stage together we all feel our best. The expression and emotional outlet of music makes it really easy for us to feel comfortable. Listening to music is also a huge source of dopamine for us, and is probably what we spend the second most time doing besides practicing and playing. Playing music is also an activity that we can watch ourselves improve at, and the feeling of motivation to get bigger and better every time is extremely rewarding, and a really good source of longer term happiness.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
One of the biggest parts of our music is the diverse influences that we each bring to the band. While we are all into rock music, our tastes split after that, ranging from disco, to hip hop, to EDM. This all manifests itself in our music, whether it’s creeping into our rhythms or our song structures, everything is represented in some way from each of our musical styles. Once it all comes together, it’s a really unique form of rock music, of which we haven’t heard anyone that sounds similar. We’ve been together as a band for almost a year now. Most of us have been in bands before, so we’ve picked up the tools we needed in order to handle everything ourselves. It definitely has not been easy up to this point though. We’ve faced flaky managers and venues, and dealt with a lot of disappointments that we could not have even predicted. Ultimately, we just had to deal with it the best way that we could at the time, and all of those disappointments have brought to us to where we are now so we wouldn’t want to have done it any other way. Along the way, we’ve grown more resilient, and more prepared for the potential catastrophes, as well as how to handle ourselves in a wealth of different situations. No matter what you have going for you, a career in entertainment is very difficult, but we want the world to know that we’ve really found that if you set your heart on something, and never give up, you can achieve anything.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of our favorite spots in LA is Ivy Bogart’s (@tattedbypoison) tattoo shop. We’ve collectively gotten about 8 tattoos from Ivy, and we love her artwork, for sure an important stop for anyone visiting. We also like to hang out at Urth Cafe in downtown, definitely try their Spanish Latte. Catch us at Los Globos in Silverlake after a show, or just any night we’re trying to unwind. There’s always great local underground shows going on, so any nights we’re not rehearsing or playing, we’re probably seeing our friends play, or our favorite local acts.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’d love to dedicate our shoutout to our friend, Rider! She has been with us since the beginning of this band and has always supported us! She always has an amazing attitude and brings so much positive energy wherever she goes!! Rider has created many of our band posters and merch, and always comes up with the best ideas! We really appreciate her a lot and wish her nothing but the best! Rider- if you read this, we love you and are so happy you are in our lives!! Here’s to many more years of friendship and working together!!
