We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m very proud of the growth of Red Bear to date. As a small, family run, boutique winery we were able to turn a passion project into a business. Red Bear was initially supported by close friends and family but we’ve been able to expand our audience through great partnerships, events, and getting on prestigious wine lists that most recently include Olivetta, Alta, Black Pot Supper Club.

I’m excited about the huge potential of Red Bear. As an emerging and boutique winery, we are able to expand, adapt to new and emerging techniques in wine marketing. Red Bear production is a just a small portion of the vineyard in Sonoma, in the future we may expand to include other grapes and varietals into the product line.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Right now my focus on all things wine related: I’m starting off taking them to Alta and Adams Wine Shop. This great restaurant/wineshop sells wines predominantly produced by people of color. The restaurant has some amazing soul food and the wine shop is full of great wine and cook books. They recently started carrying Red Bear in the store and restaurant.

I’ve been meaning to check out the wine safari in Malibu so having a friend in town would be a great reason to get out by the water, taste some wine, and feed giraffes.

My next stops are the wine shop in Eataly and Wally’s, two of my favorite places to find great wines and get some nice food to go with it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m dedicating this Shoutout to everyone involved in the grape growing and winemaking process that makes Red Bear possible. These are some of the best in the business. Our winemaker, Drew Damskey is third generation vintner from Sonoma County and is the mastermind behind the entire process.
